Chapter 64

Cruze

It was Saturday night and the sky was pitch black as me and Diamond pulled up across the street from Allister's mansion. We both had on all black and we were ready for what was about to come. I cracked and loaded my two nine millimeters before placing them in the back of my pants. I looked over at Diamond. "We're finally here". I said nervously. She reached over and put her hand on my arm.

"Let's do this". She said in a serious tone. She leaned over and kissed my lips then reached in the back seat of the car and grabbed the duffel bag that we were supposed to give Allister that held almost forty thousand dollars. "Come on". Diamond said getting out of the Dodge. I followed and put the duffel bag of money on my shoulder. I clung by Diamond's side as we neared the lavish mansion. We walked through the giant gate that was already opened for us and headed toward the wide stair case. We went up the stairs step by step then I watched as Diamond knocked on one of the two double doors. As she knocked, the door slowly creaked open. I looked over at Diamond and she nodded for me to go in. We stepped through the door of the house and immediately noticed the silence. We studied our surroundings to make sure nothing was unusual about the place. All we heard was a fire place slowly cracking in a distance. "The library". Diamond said looking over at the two big doors that led to the study. We both started to walk toward them and I pushed open one door to see Allister sitting at his desk smoking on a cigar. He had a nasty grin on his face as he starred at us.

"Welcome". He said. "I see that yall are on time. We need to get this done before my wife and daughter get home from their trip tomorrow". I watched as Allister's eyes shifted from us to the duffel bag on my shoulder. He starred heavily at it. "The money now please". He finally said. I looked over at Diamond who shook her head no to me. "So your just not giving it to me"?

"Not yet". Diamond said. "We want to see how the night plays out first. We're not stupid".

"Very well then". Allister said reaching into his desk and pulling out a Revolver. I somehow knew that this nigga was sheisty. That's when I realized that everything really was only about the money to him. He probably never planned on smoking Mondese, but set me and my wife up instead. I starred at the gun in his hand heavily not knowing what his plan was to do with it.

"What are you doing"? Diamond asked shockingly.

"The money now please Diamond". Allister said angrily as he stood up aiming the gun at us.

"Allister-"! Diamond yelled.

"Shut up"! He yelled at Diamond making me pissed. "Give me the bag". He ordered.

"I knew you were full of shit". Diamond yelled. Allister flung his head back and started to crack up laughing. He then looked back up at Diamond and set his gun on the desk. "I don't need to kill you". He said. "I'm not a killer". We both watched as Allister went over to a window that was on a wall behind his desk and grab the curtains. He started to wave them back and forth then he let go and turned to us with a nasty grin on his face.

"Oh hell no"! I yelled. "Did you just give a signal"!? I watched as Allister started grin.

"I knew it"! Diamond shouted pulling two guns from out of the back of her pants. She looked bad ass with black leather gloves she had on her hands gripping the two nines. Allister hurried to reach for his gun, but he wasn't fast enough. Pap, pap, pap, pap! Diamond fired her two guns at Allister like a G. His body slumped backward, and collapsed in his chair, then it rolled back and hit the wall. Blood started to spur from his mouth. He coughed once then his head slumped to the side as he took his last breath. I didn't know what would make Allister put his gun down because Diamond didn't hesitate to shoot that nigga in the face. He had under estimated her and that led him to his death bed. "I told you not to trust him" Diamond said angrily as she walked to the window with a calm rage. She bent over and looked through the blinds curiously.

"Who did he signal"? I asked pulling a chrome from the back of my pants.

"I don't see any cars except for Allister's". She says starring out the window intensively. She then stood up straight and looked at me. "Get ready because whoever it is he signaled...........their coming". I nodded my head as if I understood then Bang! The two doors to the study flew open because someone had kicked them in. Diamond immediately started firing shots and so did I. After all of the shooting, I could see two men laying on the floor lifeless, then one man with dark, black skin with fat, nappy dreads to his jaw bone walked in aiming a pistol at Diamond. "Mondese". She said softly. So Allister really did call him up here.

"You killed my brotha"!? The man shouted starring at Allister's body.

"Brother"? I repeated to myself. Mondese then started to fire bullets at Diamond. I watched as she ducked behind Allister's desk. Just when I was about to pull the trigger to my chrome, Mondese started to fire shots in my direction. At first I didn't know what was happening until I saw Diamond scream at me as if she was in fear. She then turned to Mondese angrily and aimed her pistols at him. She busted her bullets and I watched  as they fled the gun whole and penetrated through Mondese's body. I then watched as Mondese stumbled backward and collapsed on the floor. I could feel my body starting to go numb. I fell to my knees then looked down at myself to see my whole torso covered in dark red blood. There were three holes in my body and blood was spurring out of them. I looked up and I felt the rest of me fall to the floor. I suddenly heard Diamond rush over to me. She dropped her guns, fell to her knees, and looked me over in fear.

"Cruze.......come on baby your okay". She said trying to soothe me. I could hear the cracking in her voice as if she was about to cry. I couldn't speak. All I was feeling was horrible pain.

"Diamond". I finally managed to choke up. "I love you".

"I love you too baby". She says cradling me. I starred at her. I could barely see her womb behind her black leather jacket and her black shirt, but I knew it was there. I used all of my energy to pick up my hand and slide it up her shirt. I placed it on her soft skin and caressed the little mump.

"The baby". I said. I could start to see tears roll down her cheeks and they fell onto my face. "Your gonna be okay baby". She said.

"No"! I coughed. "I'm not. I can't feel.....my body". Diamond then pulled me in close, but when she pulled away and looked down at herself her entire shirt was covered in my blood. She then screamed and looked down at me in fear.

"Cruze"! She called. I looked up at my wife quickly remembering all that we've been through together from the time we were very young teenagers until now. I knew that this was finally my time so at twenty-six years old, I guess God said it was time for Careem Levonn Sheard to go. I saw Diamond crying and screaming over me, but I could no longer hear her voice. I fought with all I had to stay with her, but I felt myself getting weaker and weaker every second that passed. I could feel the end coming as my heart beat slowed. I just layed there in Diamond's arms watching her cry. As I starred into her watery eyes, I could feel my heart beat coming to it's final stop. The last words I could think of, but had no more energy enough to say were I love you as I slowly slipped away from the Earth.
