          It had been a month since I had been staying with Diamond and that I had been back in the game. I had my head screwed on tight and I was going to be smart this time. After being locked up for eight years, I vowed never to see another prison cell again. Diamond taught me the hooks and curves of her business and showed me her techniques. She let me do a few delivery's for her and pop caps in a nigga's ass if they weren't doing shit right. I loved being Diamond's partner. It was like we were a team. She was her own man and could hold her own. She didn't need me, but she chose to have me around and for what reason, I didn't know. We were like a modern day Bonnie and Clyde. I couldn't understand why she wanted to live in a small ass apartment where I had to sleep on the couch in when she had the money to buy big ass mansions if she wanted to. She had enough money to the point where she could get out of the game once and for all, but every time I tried to talk to her about moving, she wasn't having it. It was pure torchure to live with a woman that looked like a model. Every time I heard her in the shower, I wanted to jump right in with her. I couldn't help, but look at her when she walked around in her short, silky robe. I wanted her. I wanted to taste her and to feel her, but every time I tried to brush up on her, she wouldn't brush back. I knew that she had some type of feelings for me, but she just didn't want to show it because she didn't want to mix business with pleasure.
         I was sitting on the couch with my hand in my basketball shorts when I heard a knock at the door. I looked up confusingly. Diamond kept her shit on the down low and nobody ever came to her crib unless she planned for them to come. I watched her scurry from her bedroom to the door and open it. There was a tall, deep brown skinned man with a bald head standing in the door way. "Ceaser"! She screamed with excitement as she wrapped her arms around his neck. She also jumped up and wrapped her legs around his waist, and I watched as the man picked her up and spun her around with excitement like they were in love. I hated to see Diamond show affection to other niggas. I wondered what type of relationship that she had with this buster. He then put her down and stepped into the apartment. "Where you been at"? She asked.

"Miami, where else? The question is where have you been at? I called up Gay Tony and he told me that I would find you here"? Ceaser replied.

"I had to come back to Queens because Mondese got too close to me". Diamond said.

"Actually, that's what I came to talk to you about". He said. I watched as Diamond closed the door behind him and when he saw me, a look of confusion swept over his face. I starred at him as if I was the king and he was a peasant that Diamond would never go for. There was no way that if she was who he was dating, that their relationship would last long. "Who's he"? Ceaser asked as he sat down on the couch across from me.

"Just an old friend from high school". Diamond said going over to sit next to him. That made me upset that she only referred to me as an old friend and then on top of that, she went to sit next to the nigga and not me. I wanted her to sit with me, but I didn't want to sound like a little ass kid. "So what was it that you said you came to talk to me about"? Diamond asked.

"Look, Mondese is out for you". Ceaser said in a serious tone.

"I know that. That's why I moved back up here". Diamond said.

"No, Diamond. You don't understand. Everyone on the streets of Miami knows about that little drive by you did on him. He found out where your old apartment was and when he only found Gay Tony's weapons up in there, he went on a rampage. He's killing people until he find out what he wants to know about you".

"Killing people? like who"? Diamond asked sitting up.

"They captured Columbus. He's dead Diamond". Ceasar said turning to face her. I watched Diamond cover her mouth in shock. Her eyes swelled up and tears started to spill down her cheeks. I didn't know what relationship that she had with this nigga Columbus or why she was sweating him so hard, but I was determined to find out.

"How could he"? She cried. "Columbus had nothing to do with anything".

"I know he didn't, but Mondese had his niggas cut him all up and left his body parts in your old apartment as a warning, but he didn't stop there. Diamond brace yourself for this one". Diamond tried her best to stop crying, but tears still flooded out of her eyes. "Gin is dead too".

"Gin? No, he can't be dead"! Diamond cried falling into Ceaser's arms. "Noooooo Cease. Please tell me this is a lie. Please tell me that Mondese didn't do shit to Gin".

"I'm sorry Diamond, but Gin is gone. They hung him by his neck on a street light by your old apartment. They shot him up and dug one of his eyes out. They killed Gin in a humiliating way and a couple of your old soldiers came up missing too. Mondese is crooked and won't stop until your dead".

"Ceaser, please.....please tell me what I have to do". Diamond pleaded.

"Diamond, Mondese is out for you hard. He won't stop until somebody kills him".

"I know and I've tried so many times, but the closest I've gotten was landing a bullet in his arm". Diamond cried.

"Look, Mondese won't touch me, but he knows that me and you were really good friends. Try to get as many niggas protecting you as you can, but I'm warning you to lay low Diamond. One of Mondese's niggas snitched and told him that you were in Queens, and people are claiming that they've seen you around on the streets and in shopping malls. Like I said, lay low". Diamond nodded her head as she listened to Ceaser. "Ima be up here for a couple more days, then I'm going back to Miami. If I hear anything, I'll hit you up".

"Okay". Diamond said leading Ceaser to the door and letting him out. I then watched her fall against the door when it shut and started to cry harder. I got up and went to her. I hugged her and she and cried on my chest. It felt good to have her this close. I walked her back to the living room and sat her down.

"Diamond, who is Columbus"? I asked.

"You mean who was Columbus"? She said. "He was someone I used to fuck with back when I was in Miami. He had nothing to do with the situation, but since Mondese saw how close we were, I guess he had to kill him to try and get to me. Same with Gin. He worked for me faithfully back when I was with Royale. He had my back and followed me to Miami. The last time I saw him was a year ago when I fired him. I shouldn't have done that. I made a awful mistake". Diamond said wiping her tears with her hand. I just pulled her close and continued to hold and console her as she cried. "Mondese won't stop until he finds me. He's determined to have me dead". She said through tears.

"I won't let that happen". I said. "I would take a hundred bullets for you. I would kill Mondese dead before I let him touch you". I said making her go silent. It was obvious by now that I had mad feelings for Diamond. I kissed her forehead and just rocked her in my arms. My muscular physique swallowed her feminine body as I held her. I guess that she still couldn't comprehend the fact that I was back in her life after being separated for so long, but this time, I wasn't going anywhere.
