"Where were you?" Jeremy asked me at lunch. He did look a little worried, but I also noticed that he was trying to hide that from me. "I made a friend" I told him and he rose an eyebrow "Who?" He asked like it was impossible for me to find one. "Landry Danson" I told him. "She's trouble. You better stay away from her!" He said and I just laughed "She's trouble alright" I said. "How do you mean that?" He asked worried, but not about me anymore. "We met when she was trying to push her teeth into my neck, but instead mine ended up in her's"

"And you are proud of that?" He asked with a bit of anger in his voice. "No, I'm not" I said, hoping he would calm down before he goes full out hunter. "Sure sounded like it" He said still not calmer. "Jer" I said, turned towards him and looked into his eyes. I placed my hand on his shoulder and kept looking into his eyes. "Calm down Jer" I said in a soft voice and he took a deep breath, our eyes not breaking apart.

"Are you calm?" I asked in the same soft voice and he nod slowly. "Thanks Mandy" He said and pulled me into a hug. I enjoyed every second of that hug. He pulled away. I didn't wanted it to end. I wanted more.

I let go of her. I didn't know what just has happened. I didn't know why she was able to calm me down. I couldn't let her be that person. Not after what happened. Not so soon.

"I'll see you later" He suddenly said and left. I was left behind, confused and even more confused. "Now I have to ask, what's your relation to the Gilbert's?" Landry asked she suddenly appeared next to me. "My brother" I said, sticking to the story my dad and I made up. "Truth Mandy. I'm not lying to you, meaning you are not lying to me! Got it?!" She said and I sighed "Fine! My father" I said and she rose her right eyebrow "Your what now?" She asked. "My father. Stefan Salvatore" I said and she was still looking at me like that, just with her blue eyes open wide. It was like she lost control over her face.

"You're not joking?!" She asked and I nod. "I was born 1865 in Mystic Falls, aka here. After the vampire hunt" I told her "In which my father and uncle were turned" "What vampire hunt?" She asked confused. "The one 1864. How do you not know of that?" I asked her confused. "Well, I kind of had to figure out everything on my own. I only once had help of a witch" She said and held her hand up. A ring was on that hand. I recognized it immediately "A lapis lazuli" I said and she nod. "Why would a witch help a vampire without getting anything from him or her?" I asked her confused. It just didn't make sense to me.

"Let's just say she's bitchy and mean and I'm bitchy and mean" Landry said and started to walk away. Guessing I won't find out more about her. At least not yet.

I decided to walk after her "I can teach you" I told Landry. "Teach me what?" She asked confused. "About vampires history in Mystic Falls. After all my dad lived through the hunt, more like died in it and I was raised by a witch that lived there during the time" I told her "You need me. See it as an apology to trying to bite me in the neck" I said. "Actually I didn't bite you in the neck. But you bit me, so you are the one that needs to apologize to me!" She said. "One way or another I'm gonna teach you that stupid stuff that could save your life!" I said, not taking no for an answer.

"Fine. You won't let go anyways" She said, finally giving in. "Thank you for saving us both the trouble" I said. "Like I have a choice" Landry said. Somehow funny seeing the mean bitchy vampire from earlier cave in to me. I couldn't hurt a fly or a human, reason why I drink from bags instead of bodies.

"Maybe you can tell me something about Jeremy in return" I said and she looked at me, once again with that rose eyebrow "Somebody's crushing" She mocked me. I didn't answer, I just pushed her, causing her to move a few steps to the right. I only laughed, while continuing walking.

"He said you are trouble" I told her. "I know. You think I'm badass now? Should have seen me as a human. Always hanging out with the bad crowd. I was a terrible human. Be happy you didn't meet me then" She said.

Her talking about her human self made me sad. It made me remember my own.

Mystic Falls, Virginia. 1880.

I was 15 and it was my last year as a human. I expected something to happen, but I didn't know how soon. No one could prepare me for what was going to happen to me.

"Amanda, can you help me for a minute?" Emily asked. I put down the book I was reading and walked over to her and helped her. "I'm going to town later, only if I may of course" I asked her. "Of course my dear" She said and smiled at her.

About an hour later I went to town and met up with my only friend outside my family. His name was James. He was the only living descendant of Giuseppe Salvatore or better the only living Salvatore at all. He was living with his mother in the old mansion of the family.

"So, what are you up to on such beautiful day" He said. He always knew how to win me over with just one word. "Nothing, besides meeting up with my best friend" I said and we hooked arms. "You're such a charmer Amanda" He said, I chuckled. "I'm quite sure I can't be a charmer, since I'm not a guy unlike you" I told him, while he just laughed. "Okay, imagine this. You found a way to live forever, who would you miss most?" He asked. He always had the most ridiculous questions. "You of course" I said and I think he blushed a little. "Not your mom?" He asked and my smiled faded "My mom is already dead. When you die, I'm by far over her. As for Emily, I think she will always be alive somehow" I told him. "Why do you think that?" "I don't know, I have a feeling" I told him, deep in my thoughts.

Mystic Falls, Virgina. Today

"Earth to Mandy" Landry said again. "Sorry, spaced out for a little" I said and looked back at her. The memory of James still hurting in heart.
