Chapter 3

Stefan showed me every single room in the house and the last one on our list is the basement. We walked down the stairs and went into a hallway, that was made out of stone.

"What is that??" I asked, being careful because I didn't want to break my leg in my heels, that I was still wearing. Don't ask me why! But the point is, that even when I fall and break it, it would heal like in seconds, but I don't wanna risk that many trouble because I was dumb enough to walk down in the basement vault with heels.

"Those are cells" Stefan explained and that frightened me a little

"But you are not using those anymore?? Right??" I asked and yes, I was still a little scared

"Oh yeah we do" He said and my eyes widen a bit, but all he had on his face was a smile

"For what are you using those??" I asked still scared, but also curious

"When one of us is getting out of hand and all vampirey and want to kill everyone in Mystic Falls, then we lock them up here and let them starve out" He explained like it was nothing big. Like it is the most normal thing in the world

"So you would even lock me in there?" I asked just to go sure

"Mandy" He said and made a short break before looking at me "I even locked Elena, the girl I love, in here"

"You love Elena??" I asked, not really caring about the fact that he would lock me in here, without crying a tear

"I said 'loved'!!" Stefan claimed, but I know what I heard!!

"You said 'love'!! Might be just one letter that you 'missed' but I don't care!! #Stelena" I said happy

"You're a weird little girl" Stefan said and laughed a little

"Tell me something, I don't know" I laughed and slit down the wall and sat down. Stefan did the same.

"You would be really okay, if Elena and I would be..... something.... again" He asked

"I would be related to Jeremy either way, so why not as step-uncle" I said, now in a fake happy. The first guy I find attractive in ages and I was going to be related to him somehow, because my father and my uncle are fighting about his sister. I think my life just got way more complicated than I hoped it will

"Wait... Why did you say that part with Jeremy?? How do you even know him" Stefan asked and I think I might have blushed. Seriously Mandy?! Give the guy that is your father a clue that you are attracted to his one true loves brother?? Nice played

"I meant, I met him earlier. On my way to the living room and he seemed cool. That's why I said that!! I promise I swear!!" I said and I hoped he would buy it

"So, did you lock humans in there?" I asked to change the topic and I hoped so much that it worked

"Yeah, we did. A few times I think" He said and my eyes widen again "But only so they will lose the vervain from their system" He added and to be honest, didn't really calm me down

"Okay... When I go to High School, which I really wanna do by the way, and I would find a friend, could I bring her or him here without any doubt? Without Damon trying to hook up with her or kill him? Or attempt to kill him or her??" I asked to change the topic again

"I don't make promises, I can't keep" He said and I looked to the ground

Of course he can't promise that... He's not his brother and it is not his choice and he can't keep him from doing what he does.. Literally..

"Yeah, if he's in luck I won't be able to make any friends... I was never good at it" I said sadly, trying to sound tough, which I totally failed in. If I would be an actress or something like that, I would never get a job. I'm the worst pretender that you can find since 1865.

"What do you mean??" Stefan asked me. I could now feel how his fatherly side was coming through.

"If you know that you have to move away from the place 4 years after you came, you are not really open for a life long friendship and my old friends probably hate me now, because I told them, that I'll call, but I haven't yet and most of my friends died of old age or are next ones to die or are old and would probably get a heart attack, when they would see me now" I said and tried again to let it sound like it was nothing big. I was a little bit more successful, but my sadness was still in my voice

Stefan lied an arm around me and pulled me closer. I lied my head down on his chest.

"I would love to tell you, that everything gets easier, but it doesn't really. You get used to it, but that's it. But the worst thing is, when you go back to the place and you realize that your friend isn't there anymore and that you have to go through everything alone, until you found a new friend" he said. I guess that was an attempt to cheer me up, but yeah that didn't really work

It was silent for a few minutes. All you could hear, was me and my dad breathing and maybe a few water drops falling from the ceiling, where I had no idea where they might come from. This vault is still scary and somehow I couldn't wait to get out off it

"Stefan, I think I'll go to bed.." I said and then I yawned. It was a real yawn by the way "This was a long day and I just wanna sleep and I'm really really tired..." I tried to explain, but stopped because I had the feeling that Stefan wanted to say something

"Yeah, I think that's a good idea and if you want to, I can go with you to the High School and enroll you there" he said as we got up

"Thanks" I said with a smile and hugged him briefly, before walking back upstairs and the hallway until I had to go upstairs again and the hallway to my bed room. Then I saw Jeremy sitting on the floor, half asleep

I walked over to him and kneed down "Jeremy? Why are you sleeping on the floor?" Then I looked up and back down on him "In front of your room?"

"I don't know.. I really don't know" was all he said, before getting up and disappearing in his room. Boys... I thought before getting up myself and going into my room. I walked directly to my bed. Only thing I did to prepare me for bed, was pulling off my heels and tight jeans, but then I got into my bed and fell asleep really fast

The next morning and the sun was shining through the window, even if the sun wasn't that bright because of the trees, but I liked it. I like the sun, which is unusual for a vampire, but thanks to my daylight ring, that is no problem. The most amazing feeling in the morning for me is the bright shinning sun through my window in my face

I sat up and like an ordinary teenager, the first thing I did, was look at my phone and I didn't even know why. I mean, who should text me or call me? My friends all hate me, because I started a fight before I left, so it won't be too hard when I'm gone

I stretched my arms and got up and walked to my mirror and saw how my make up was running down my face. I looked like some zombie. I went to my bathroom, which was connected to my bathroom and washed the entire make up of and put my hair into a bun

Went back to my room and got some tight jeans and a plain white top and what else I needed and went to my bathroom and changed and walked back into my room and grabbed my black heels from yesterday and put them on. I went to my mirror, where I put my necklaces yesterday and I put on a medallion that was the only thing I got left from my mother. It had the shape of a heart with a white stone and it had a golden color.

Then I went to the bathroom and put on my make up. My hair, I let fall over my shoulders. I didn't even bother to straight it or curl it. All I did was brush it and went downstairs and into the kitchen, where I found my father, Damon, Elena and Jeremy

"Good morning princess" Stefan said and patted on the seat next to him and that made me smile.

I walked over to the table and sat down.

"Eat as many as you want" Stefan said and handed me a plate

"Thanks" I said and took it and took some waffles and nutella and started eating them "Those are good" I said with full mouth

"Thank you" Stefan said with a smile

"Stefan is the best cook I know" Elena said and I could feel how she admired his cooking

They are so cute!! I really want them to get together. I might have just met her, but I like her.
