“What’re you doing here?” The voice asked. Both turned around to see Snakeman. “Snakey!” Annabelle said, giving him a hug. “You have to leave. You’ve already made him mad enough.” “Who?” “The Ringmaster, just, trust me. Get out of here while you still can.” “No.” Annabelle said, crossing her arms. “What’s going on here?” Suddenly a loud slam could be heard from down the hall. “Where is he?” A demonic voice screamed. “Hide!” Snakey said, shoving both of them behind the curtain leading into his bedroom. “He’s in there!” A frightened voice said. “Don’t say anything, just stay quiet for Christ sake!” He hissed. He stood up and pretended to be putting things away when they heard another hiss. “Have fun?” A voice growled. “I didn’t know she’d be here.” Snakey said. The Ringmaster stayed quiet.

“It’s true!” A loud smack could be heard, followed by a thud. “Don’t ever yell at me again you miserable excuse for a living creature!” Annabelle was frightened, and curious to what was happening , so she peeked through the opening. She saw the Ringmaster standing over Snakey, he’d apparently landed a good punch to his face and had sent him flying. Snakey was on the ground in pain. His eyes were no longer hidden, and they were a piercing red again. The skin went back to being a very dark black. Annabelle was shocked by what she saw. “Leave me alone!” The Ringmaster picked Snakey up by the neck then, very easily, and held him up by the wall. “So then, she was your childhood friend, is that so?”

“What’s it to you?” “She would really love to meet you again, wouldn’t she?” “Let me go!” “Maybe she would love meeting you again… let’s say… July 30th… around midnight?” “You wouldn’t dare!” The Ringmaster laughed a demonic laugh. “Don’t think I wouldn’t, especially after tonight!” He then threw Snakey across the room, making him thud against a dresser. “I did nothing wrong!” He said. “You’ve been doing everything wrong ever since I saved your damn life!” He rubbed his temples then. “God you people are so migraine inducing. I had an easier life in Hell then here.” He walked out of the room then, Snakey stumbling to get up. “Are you okay?” Annabelle said, jumping out of cover and running to his side.

“Yeah.” He mumbled. “I knew that guy was evil the second I saw him.” Nathan said. “Come on, we’ve got to get you out of here.” “I can’t leave, I’m bound here.” Snakey mumbled, looking down. “What?” “Look, just…” He sighed. “Just leave, don’t come back here. It’s better if you forget all about this place and me.” “No, not without answers.” “You can be so headstrong, you haven’t changed a bit.”

“What do you mean he saved your life?” Nathan asked. “When I was young, I went out to play in the woods,” He started. “The day I meet Annabelle, was the day I met him. He saw my eyes and tongue and offered to take me in, since my family abandoned me.” “Why’d you go with?” Snakey scoffed. “I was young, I didn’t know any better, for Christ sake I didn’t have a family or a home!” “Calm down, what happened after that?” “He gave me to one of the people that works here, he raised me. When I was seventeen, he came back to get me.”

“That’s when I lost touch with you.” Annabelle said. He nodded. “What’s he do to you all, everyone looked scared on stage, that one guy even had blood on his clothes!” Nathan said. Snakey looked down. “No, no I cant say. Leave, leave now!” He hissed at them. “Tell us!” Annabelle said. “Go!” Snakey yelled then, startling both of them. “What happened to the Ringmaster, his eyes were red and he had black patches under his eyes!” Annabelle yelled back. Snakey just looked at her with a sad look in his eyes, then turned and walked into his bedroom. “Come on,” Nathan said. “We’ll ask the others.”

“You!” They both jumped and turned around. One of the people pulling the cage was there. “Leave, no visitors after we close!” They began to walk away when they heard him mumble, “The acts have already been fed.” “We’ll try again on the thirtieth.” Nathan told her. “For now, we should get home and go to sleep.” “I don’t want to go back there.” Annabelle mumbled, about to cry again. “Don’t worry, we’ll find out what’s happening here. It will just have to wait, the thirtieth is just a week away in any case.” She nodded and the two walked back to their home. When they got there their parents were in the living room. “How was the circus?” Their mother asked meekly.
