"Maybe not helpful, but true," Cadance mused, still in her usual monotone.

"Which means you shouldn't say it!!" Lotus hissed.

Cadance just rolled her eyes and went back to picking at her fingernails.

"I would heal him for you, but these cells are spell-proof..." Lotus said, sounding sincere.

"They're only spell-proof if you're weak," Cadance commented.

"Well sorry, not everyone can be a super-powerful mindbender."

"Wait, the cells are spell-proof? And you can still use your powers?" She questioned, looking at Cadance.

She just rolled her eyed in response, then elaborated. "I'm one of the more powerful mindbenders you could say, no spell-proof cell is gonna control me."

"Then why are you here? Wouldn't it be easy to break out?"

"I could break out right now if I wanted to, but I don't. I've got nothing better to do, I haven't got anywhere to be."

"So you sit in prison, doing nothing?" Angelica asked, as if she were crazy.

"Well, I'm obviously not doing nothing, am I? You and your little boyfriend had to come along and ruin my nothingness," she mused, still in monotone. Angelica couldn't tell if she was joking or being serious.

Cadance stopped picking at her fingernail and looked up at Angelica, no expression shown, even in her eyes. "I don't joke, Angelica dear," she said, looking her straight in the eye.

The eye contact made Angelica somewhat uncomfortable, so much so that she forced herself to look away.

"That's what I thought," Cadance mumbled, knowing that deep down, Angelica feared her. Like everyone feared mindbenders, they were considered some of the most powerful people, yet many were kept in high security prisons because they were untrusted.

Her thoughts were interrupted by Cadance. "Guards coming, bringing lunch," she said, picking at her fingernails.

"Yay, lunch!" Todd cheered, a toothy grin spread across his face.

Angelica quickly crawled under the bed, being sure not to touch Blaise's shoulder and hip. He was still asleep, his chest rising and falling as he breathed softly. She looked down at him, knowing he'd make noise if she woke him up by accident.

Moments later, she heard the sound of the door opening down the hall.

"Woo-hoo, lunchtime," Lotus said, looking through the bars on her cell toward the guards bringing their lunches.

"Another day, another disgusting lunch," Cadance mumbled.

"You get used to it after about five years," Todd laughed.

"Shut up," she heard one of the guards growl, annoyed.

Angelica heard the sliding of trays through the slits in the bars, they sounded like plastic trays. She gently covered Blaise's ears, being sure not to wake him up.

After the guards had delivered all of the lunches, which surprisingly didn't take that long, Angelica could finally take her hands off Blaise's ears.

"The coast is clear," Cadance said after the door closed again.

"Is he awake yet?" Lotus said to Angelica, obviously referring to Blaise.

"No, he's still asleep," Angelica said softly, looking down at him.

"If he's undisturbed, he'll sleep for five more hours," Cadance said.

"Will he feel a bit better?" Angelica questioned, still looking down at him.
