Blaise and Angelica tumbled out of the portal, Blaise landing hard on his back with Angelica on top of him.

"Oof," he coughed, getting the wind knocked out him as he landed on the ground, Angelica landing on top of him.

Angelica quickly sat up, turning and looking at where the portal was. It was gone.

"Blaise!" She yelled, shocked. "You broke a portal!"

"It was either that or you get harvested," he said softly, still catching his breath.

"Harvested? What does that mean? What did that Tracker mean by 'snack'?" She asked, looking down at him.

"He means take your soul," Blaise coughed, "Demons eat angel's souls. They taste amazing."

"They do?" She asked, looking confused. "And he wanted to harvest me?"

"I would never let anyone harvest you," Blaise said, sitting up and hugging her.

"You said angel's souls taste amazing..." she trailed off, "does that mean mine would?"

"Angelica, I wouldn't harvest you," he said, pulling away from the hug and looking her in the eye. "And I wouldn't let anyone else harvest you either."

"Good," she said, hugging him again. After a minute she pulled away from the hug and looked around, realizing that they were in an alley. "We'd better get to the bus, come on," she said, taking his hand and walking toward the street.

"Will they be awake?" Blaise asked, remembering how late it was.

"I think so, it's only 7," Angelica said, leading him out to the sidewalk and turning. Up ahead, there was an empty parking lot, besides a black bus with the Scars In Monochrome logo parked in it. "They couldn't have picked a better place to park the bus."

"I'll say," Blaise agreed, "I'm so excited to meet them!"

"Try not to act like a fanboy, okay? You're just my boyfriend, and we need somewhere to stay," she explained. "You've never even heard of Scars In Monochrome, okay?"

"Right," he nodded.

"Good, now let's go," she said, walking toward the bus with Blaise in tow.
