Twenty-Six

"Come on," Angelica said, pulling Blaise by the hand out of the building.

"Just a second," Blaise said, looking around. "Did you notice how late it's getting? I wonder what time it is."

Angelica looked around, noticing that the sky was dark. "Check your phone."

He pulled his phone out of his pocket, turning the screen on. "Almost 7," he said, putting it back in his pocket.

"Not as late as I thought it was," Angelica said, "but we should still hurry. We have to fly to the Station, come on!" She urged.

"Okay," he said, summoning his wings and stretching them out. He picked her up, barely giving her time to get a grip before he took off toward the Station.

"There are going to be Trackers..." Angelica said, looking worried.

"Don't worry, there will be a lot of people there, as long as we move fast we'll be alright."

"Okay..." she trailed off, sounding uneasy.

After a few minutes of flying, he landed outside the doors of the Station, gently setting her down.

"Okay, we need to move fast," he said, taking her hand and opening the door. "You ready?"

"Yeah," she nodded, trying to sound more brave than she felt.

"Come on then," he said, walking in and pulling her in after him. The yellow portal, to the human world, was the closest to the door.
Angelica looked around, seeing some of the Trackers looking more alert. She looked at Blaise, who saw it too.

"We have to go, now!" He said, moving quickly toward the portal, pushing people out of the way and pulling her after him.

Before he could jump into the portal, a Tracker grabbed Angelica's wrist, stopping them both.

"Hey! Let go of me!" Angelica protested, trying to get free.

"Not so fast, angel," the Tracker said distastefully, "what do you think you're doing here? You lost?"

"Let us be, we were just leaving," Blaise said, still holding her other hand.

"Afraid I can't do that," the Tracker said, looking at him. "You were trying to take this pretty angel to the human world all for yourself to harvest?"

"No!" Blaise said, "I would never!"

"I'd think it'd be hard to resist harvesting a pretty angel like this one," the Tracker grinned maliciously, his eyes glowing red for a second as he lightly stroked her cheek with his other hand.

"Don't touch her!" Blaise shouted, smacking his hand away from her face, then pulling her closer to him protectively, even though the Tracker still had a tight grip on her wrist.

"What, protective of your little snack?" The Tracker cackled, tugging on her wrist slightly. "I think you should share."

"Let go of her," Blaise glared at him.

Angelica buried her face in his chest, more afraid than she'd ever been in her life.

"No can do," the Tracker grinned, "I'm going to have to take her upstairs."

"No!" Blaise shouted, "you're not taking her anywhere!"

"Watch me," the Tracker laughed, tugging at her wrist. "Don't worry, we'll make a tasty snack of her."

"No you won't!" Blaise shouted, pulling her closer to him.

Angelica looked up at him, seeing that he had fire in his eyes. She was afraid almost to the point of tears.

"You're not taking her anywhere," Blaise glared, the fire in his eyes glowing brighter. If she wouldn't have known better, she would have described him as... scary.

"I don't know what you were thinking, taking her off to the human world to harvest her, you could've just done it when you caught her, and you wouldn't have had to share," the Tracker grinned.

"No one is harvesting her!!" Blaise yelled, "she's mine!! Let go of her!!"

"Already told you, no can do. Stupid teenager," the Tracker laughed. "What, you mad?" He laughed, noticing the fire in Blaise's eyes growing brighter.

"Let go of her," he said in a low voice.

"Or what?" The Tracker teased, tugging on Angelica's wrist.

Blaise quickly yanked her closer to him, making the Tracker losing his grip on her wrist. He then picked her up, kicking one of the screens that made the portal operate, jumping through a split second before it closed.
