Adelaide's POV

"Etes-vous sûr que vous avez tout? Avez-vous besoin de plus d'argent? Avez-vous votre téléphone? Assurez-vous que vous appelez lorsque vous atterrissez. Rappelez-vous que vous rencontrez avec Ava lorsque vous atterrissez et la mère de Lucy va vous apporter deux à sa maison."
(Are you sure you have everything? Do you need any more money? Do you have your phone? Make sure you call when you land. Remember you're meeting up with Ava when you land and Lucy's mom is going to bring you two to her house)
"Oui maman, je suis sûr. Ne vous inquiétez pas tellement. Ça ira!"
(Yes mom I'm sure. Don't worry so much. I'll be fine!)
Je sais ... Je vais vous manque tellement bien!
(I know... I'll miss you so much though!)
"Flight 203, Montreal to Los Angeles is beginning boarding now" A voice over the loud speaker calls.
"C'est moi, au revoir maman!"
(That's me, good bye mom!)
"Au revoir mon amour"
(good bye my love)
I grab the handle of my suitcase and readjust my shoulder bag with one of my oireachtas perpetuals in it and head to the gate to get on the plane. I show them my passport and ticket and I get on the plane. Im nervous about traveling alone but apparently Avas mom and my mom talked so we're meeting up when we both land. I send her a quick text while I still can.
Me: Hey. I'm on the plane now 😁
Ava💜: I'm on my way to the airport now! Can't wait to meet you soon!
Then before I can respond the flight attendant comes around and tells us we need to turn off our electronics. I'm in the middle seat next to two complete strangers... I can't exactly fall asleep so I just listen to music the entire time. We finally land and I get a bunch of texts from Ava. Because of the time change its 4:05pm here.
Ava💜: Hey have you landed? cuz I just did😆 @3:46pm
Ava💜: Okay now we have to sit here for like 20 minutes😒 @3:48pm
Ava💜: Wait nvm people are getting off @3:48pm
Ava💜: I'm off! @3:50pm
Ava💜: I'm at gate 32 in terminal A @3:51pm
Ava💜: Okay now I'm going to get my suitcase... @3:53pm
Ava💜: Have you landed yet? @3:54pm
Ava💜: Got my bag😁 @3:57pm
Ava💜: I'm by the door near baggage claim 3 @3:59pm
Ava💜: Lucy says she should be here at like 4:15🎉 @4:02pm
Me: I just landed🎉🎉🎉
Ava💜: Yay! I'll be waiting
Ava💜: lol that made me sound stalkerish...
Me: They're letting us off now so I'll be over in like 5 minutes!
Ava💜: Great!
I put my phone into my pocket. Make sure my skirt hasn't risen up. It hasn't thank god... I make sure my tank top is right and we're getting off the plane! The hot LA air hits me like a brick wall when we get off the plane. I follow the signs for the baggage claim. I'm looking for Ava but I've only seen her in her wig and dress so I'm not really sure what she looks like... I see someone in a black crop top, jean shorts with a red and black flannel tied around their waist and black converse and I wonder if that's her. I'm pretty sure it is her because the girls hair is like a giant poof ball and Ava has told me that her hair is like that. She has two boxes next to her, one looks like the one they put the globes in. And for the dead give away she's shuffling around her feet. They do something like a click and I know then that it's her. I go up to her and she sees me.
"Addy!" she says running to hug me. "Sorry I'm a hugger... is it okay if I call you Addy?"
"Anything is fine!" I say laughing
"okay Anything nice to meet you!" she says. I like her already.
"I just have to get my suitcase then we're good." I say.
"Okay great!" She says and goes back onto her phone.
About 7 minutes later the bags start coming out and I see mine. I grab it off the track and I go back over to Ava.
"Lucy just snapchated me saying that they're gonna be here in 5 minutes!" Ava says when I get back.
"Okay so do you want to head outside?"
"Yeah!" We grab our stuff and we head outside into the California heat.
"Addy do you have snapchat?" She asks me.
"Yeah..."
"Okay let me add you. What's your username"
"Adalaidemarie_xx" I tell her and I get a notification that "Avadancer203 Added you on snapchat"
We take a selfie and she puts it onto her story. I see it and it's really cute so I screenshot it.
"Addy do you have a Instagram too?"
"No... I've never really wanted to..."
"You should! We'll do it right now!"
"Okay..." I go to the AppStore and download it.
"Okay what's your username gonna be... Hmm... how about @Adelaide.Marie?"
"Yeah I like that!" I type it in and thankfully it's available. I put in a password then I have an Instagram!
"Okay now we need a profile picture..."
"I have a picture from worlds!"
"Yeah use that! I'll post on my account to have people follow you!"
A minute later notifications come up "Ava.Peterson Followed you"
"Ava.Peterson Tagged you in a photo"
"Ava.Peterson Mentioned you in a comment"
I open up the app and she had posted the selfie we just took.
"Go follow my awesome friend @Adelaide.Marie! She's kinda a big deal😉🇨🇦"
I start getting a bunch of notifications and I already have 56 followers and it's been a minute!
"How many followers do you have Ava..."
"11.4K... But I've had the same account since I was like 8 so it's been awhile..."
"Omg that's a lot!"
"Lucy's here!" Ava says and I see a girl in a pink and green dress running over. Ava drops down her bags and runs to hug her. They're hugging for a while. I think they were friends before this whole movie thing but they don't live near each other...
Lucy's mom honks her horn and they break apart and Ava comes back over to get her stuff. She puts her suitcase in the back but her purse, oireachtas trophy and globe are with her. She sits with her globe on her lap with her arms around it. I want a globe or cup so badly this year!
