Adelaides POV • "Kick out and sharp out! Treble back up down! Come on Addy bring that click down faster! You're gonna get off time!" Mady corrects me as I run through my jig in a back hallway. Moms sitting off to the side with our dresses.
"Do that part again." Mady says.
I roll my eyes and go back to where I started.
"And tip, di didally dum kick out, sharp out. Treble back click down. Stomp roll and heal up on toe tip out two three and click down..." I think to myself as I run through it.
I go back to mom and I see Ava down the hall a bit, staring at my dancing. She even looks a little scared! We head into the ballroom to get our seat because it's getting close to the start time. They're starting on 112 and I'm 120 so I'll be up in one of the first groups! Mady is 111 so she'll be waiting a while. We're waiting in the seats when "Could competitors 112 through 172 come side stage at this time" •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••

I slip on my new dress and head back stage. I get into line and I'm running through my steps in my head until I'm in the next group up! I swing my legs up to make sure I'm still stretched then we're about to walk on! I pull my shoulders back and put on my biggest smile. Me and 2 other girls walk out to the Xs.
"Now onstage are competitors 119, 120, and 121." I stand with my feet crossed and turned out. Wait 8 and start my jig.
"Up flick tip one two three click and click up click down." I think to myself as I dance to the right corner.
"Turn these out Addy and lift that up!" I think as I go onto the left foot.
"Don't die... one more step... Click down and click down..."
*Ding*
And we all bow at the Xs then walk off. I head back up to mom and Mady when my teacher comes up and hugs me.
"Adelaide that was amazing! You're showing great potential for the top 5!" And heads out of the ballroom.
Omg did she just say she thinks I could get top 5? I was barely in the top 10 last year! I pass by Ava and she taps my arm "Addy that was amazing!" she says.
"Thank you! I'm sure you'll be great!"
"Thanks Addy!"
I go back up to our seats and take off my dress and drink some water. I gotta stay focused and not get distracted by people saying how good that round was. I need to have 3 good rounds to get the podium! I hope I do! It's gonna be a long day just waiting For it...
