'Bestfriend'
I don't know if I'm going to say this
From a point of view
Of a person who I once 'knew'
And by knew I mean
Did I really know them?
Or was I really gullible enough to believe the facade they had made
'You're my best friend'
First of all
You do not lie to a best friend
You do not stab them in the back
You do not share their secrets when you promised them that you'd keep them
'You're my best friend'
Do you mean best friend forever?
Or best friend only for today?
She never clarified that to me
Because when she turned away I don't think she ever knew the definition of being a 'bestfriend'
Let alone a friend should I say
You do not tell a friend lies to save your so called 'friendship' just so that they could stand by your side
Because a friendship cannot be built upon lies
How are you supposed to know a person and help them when they feed you false information day after day
I should've known
From the moment she told me the first lie
That I could've possibly fixed everything that had broken me
But no...
I stuck by her, believing everything she told me
But one time I decided that I had to know all sides of the story
All sides before I could judge
Because I am sick of being used as a 'back up plan'
Used as someone who is just merely there for you to rant to
I still can't believe that she tried to turn my own friends against me
And used me to be her only friend
She'd hate on me behind my back
Thinking that she had covered her tracks
Pretending to be the one true friend I only had
But finally
When I found out that she had been lying to me
I fell apart in the arms of the real friends who had been waiting for me
And that maybe next time
When I do hear a lie
I'll know who my real friends truly are
Because until now
She still can't tell me the truth

PoesíaI like to write poems sometimes; some don't rhyme at all. Just like my stories, they are just random ideas that come to mind. I've been into slam poetry lately, so these may sound a lot like a slam poem instead.
