Infinities
There he is on your mind
Can't help but notice how fast time flies by
Just thinking of him, your train of thought flooded with memories
Memories of moments that seemed to last forever
Happiness that overflowed
And infinities that seemingly never ended
It's astounding how even his smile can make your day
Even a 'hi' or 'hello' goes a long way
Next thing you know your conversations go until three a.m.
Just laughing and chatting about random events
Inside jokes formed, only between two
Laughter and smiles over things that you'd do
When your phone lights up for just a simple ring
Reminiscing over the countless things
The times he's hugged you, kissed you, held you, loved you
You can't help but remember these moments
These little infinite moments
These moments that never even happened
It's unfortunate to say that none of these memories ever happened
They were nothing more than just a thought
Just a dream in your head
You'd look forward to going to bed
Rest your head on that pillow and close your eyes
Dream of the life that you were wishing for tonight
Because in this reality he meant more to you than he'll ever know
You simply pass by his thoughts with a 'hi' or a 'hello'
Just as a friend, a friend who only says hi, how are you?, good bye.
These were the memories of moments that ended tonight;
But unfortunately
Forever didn't seem as infinite as you thought it would be
Forever is an awfully long time
So maybe your infinities are being saved for another guy
