Finn's A Pain In My Fin, Ironic?

I almost screamed, if people hadn't been openly staring at me I probably would have. I couldn't dare believe it, I mean how could I, I was the only person I knew who could change my form and the last thing I would have thought would be that the boy (or I guess now Merman) from the vision would appear as what a.... a suitor?! I shook my head slightly after realizing people were still watching me.

"Welcome to the annual Suitors Dance." I said shakily, my smile thin and fake.

People kept staring. For a second I thought I must have said something wrong but then a few people clapped, and others joined in and bowed. My nerves flew off my body and landed somewhere far away from that moment as I gracefully swam down to the dance floor.

After almost the most boring five dances of my life I found myself close to the boy form the vision.

"Hello Miss Sapphire."

He said and extended his hand out to me to dance, knowing I wasn't allowed to refuse I danced with him to the sounds made by the orchestra. I never would admit it out loud but I loved dancing with him. His black and blue tail effortlessly flicked around moving us in a graceful pattern. After the song was over he let go of my hands a bit hastily and said:

"Thank you for the dance, M'lady."

It sounded almost fake, as if he was making fun of me. Losing my well earned patience I lashed out, something someone of my supposed 'standard' wasn't supposed to do, but at the moment I didn't care in the least.

"Do not mock me." I said as my green hair whipped against my face as I turned sharply at him. He smiled an infuriating smile that made me want to laugh and slap him at the same time. I turned and swam away just as he caught up with me.

"Sorry, just a joke." He said and almost seemed a little sorry for his rash behavior. I shrugged it off, as well as his hand that was resting on my shoulder and started to head out towards the garden. Frustrated I threw off my flower crown and sat with my blue-red hair hanging in front of my far to block my eyes. A salty tear formed there but of course, no one could tell I was crying unless the saw the pain in my eyes. I hated this dance.  I hated this night. I wish that I lived somewhere else where I could be free to be with who I choose.

I felt his hand on my shoulder before I saw him, I looked up at him and sniffed slightly. For a second he looked nervous as he flicked the tips of his tail back and forth.

"I.... had a vision about you. Nothing creepy, it was just.... weird." He said, looking down at the ground. I was shocked. I couldn't believe he had had the same sort of vision. In my mind I tried to imagine how he had seen me. Was I beautiful? Was my tail sparkling in just the right light? Or was it the opposite, did he get a rude or snotty feeling from the vision, and wanted nothing to do with me? I looked up at him.

Just as his lips found mine.
