I opened my eyes the next morning to find that it was the day I met suitors for my marriage. Of course, this day was nothing but a sham, the suitors were nothing to me, only for Kind Alat (my father) to pick one. I was forced to go so I put on a white flower crown and reluctantly had one of the handmaidens help me put on a white with blue tinted silk gown, and for a minute I held up the sculpture of a "figure skater" something my mother had given me. Apparently sliding around on ice was a humans idea of fun. While I rarely turned into a two-legged creature of their kind I can't imagine finding slipping around on frozen water enjoyable I quickly brushed my hair with a seashell comb and swam to my small closet, opening it I wondered what it was that I was supposed to wear.

I quickly chose a soft green silk skirt and a small green shelled tank top. Looking in the transparent looking mirror I thought I looked like Mother. Green hair and skin that changed often from green to pale tan looking. I sighed and watched the bubbles as the flew upward trying to escape to the surface. Mentally I pulled up my big girl skirt and swam out of my room. In the distance I heard the sound of trumpets, signaling a royals arrival. I inwardly groaned at the prospect of spending time with strange new people I didn't even know.

I quickly attached some starfish clips to my hair and swam down into the great hall to face the suitors. Once I got to the end of the stairs I saw everyone freeze, turning to look at me, inwardly I wanted to scream at them but instead, I held my head high, that is until I saw him. From the vision.

But how?

But how?
