"Finn, I never asked, are you a semi mer like me?" I ask him. He nods. We are outside the castle.
"How about we take this conversation above water," he says. I smile. We swim up to the surface, seeing a small island, and swim for it. Racing each other as fast as we can. The moment my fin touches the heat of the sand, it Transforms, into a pair of smooth legs. One of the things I found so funny about being half Mermaid half Human is that when I Transformed, my tail became a sparkling scaled skirt, saving me the embarrassment of Transforming bare. It would only do that if I wanted it to so that I had the option of hiding and simply changing into human clothes before leaving my hiding spot.
The moon shines brightly behind me. I take Finn by the hand.
"Cami is gone." I say.
"Dad will be happy that I changed my mind. Don't get me wrong, I liked Cami as more than a friend, but she wants to travel, find who she is now that she knows who she likes. Sadly, I, on the other hand, have to stay here with my Kingdom. Now I am not saying I don't have feelings for other mermaids, I do, but I have feelings for mermen to, and apparently ones who can grow legs."
"And that's okay." Finn says "I know that what is going to happen next won't be easy, but it will be okay. I am sorry about Cami but the more I see and get to know you I won't lie I am pretty excited that you're the Mergirl I am ending up with. This isn't just about the Kingdom, but it is also about us. I saw that vision and you did too. It meant something, it had to. That is why I kissed you because I knew that there was some force bringing us together."
I laugh, and Finn hugs me, kissing my shoulder. I disengage and look into his eyes and say the most important thing I could at the moment.
"I know that men rule the Kingdom but not this time. I am the Queen and this will be my Queendom, you will not change that." I say and hold my breath, waiting for his answer.
"Of course your Majesty..." This time there isn't a mocking tone at all to his voice, he is sincere. I know he won't fight me on this and I am glad for it.
I can't help but notice it's sweet when he's trying to be courteous.
