"Oh Marley, sleeping is wrong."
"No it's not." I protested. "Sleeping is sweet heaven bliss."
"Not in class." The person shook me, almost sending flying out of my seat.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa," I grumbled out grabbing onto the edge of the desk. The person stopped and laughed. I narrowed my eyes before turning to look at the anti-sleeper. Alyssa. "God, I thought you were some muscle builder. How often do you work out?"
Alyssa's eyes widened. "Oops, I didn't mean to use all of my strength on you." she chuckled nervously. "You know, 'don't know my own strength.'"
"That's not strength, that's super-human strength." I began fixing my hair when Alyssa suddenly jumped out of her seat. "Hey, you okay?"
"Ms. Maine, is there a problem?" Our social studies teacher asked, taking off his glasses and placing them onto his desk.
"N-no! Go back to teaching!" She sat back down and laced her fingers together. "I, uh, I'm fine Marley, you don't have to worry."
I gave her one last look before turning to the teacher.

After I got dressed for gym, I stepped out of the girls locker room which smelled way to strong of perfume. Making my way over to the bleachers I tripped on my untied shoelaces. Bracing myself, I outstretched my arms to stop the impact.
I shut my eyes and waited for the thud and laughter. But neither happened. Instead I felt arms embrace me and lift me up. Slowly plopping one eye open I saw a sad Ryder. I opened both my eyes and straighten myself to look at him clearer.
He seemed sadder, if anything a tad bit weaker. Not a whole lot, he just seemed...troubled.
"Are you okay? You don't seem well." I placed the back of my hand to his forehead to check if he had a fever. Ryder smiled softly and grabbed my arm. Trying to ignore the pleasant shiver that went down my spine.
"I'm fine, don't worry." he tugged on my arm towards the bleachers. "Have you been avoiding me?"
"Psht, no. Me? What?" To be honest, I have. The fact that he and Victoria were 'sex buddies' bothered me to no end. The part that bothered me most is that I was so jealous. But then again was it even true, or was she trying to get on my nerves. "Is it true?"
Ryder sat down, tugging me with him and sat me on his lap. I pushed his arms away trying to get up but he only tightened his grip. "What is?"
"You and Victoria. Did you guys used to uh, fool around together?" I looked over at him. He seemed lost in thought.
"That's not important." he shook his head and looked ahead.
"Yeah, it is."
"Why are you worried about it?" he asked. He didn't sound mad, he sounded...regretful. "If we did, it was in the past. And I regret it."
"You regret it?" I asked, he glanced over at me before nodding. "So you did?"
"Uh--"
"You did, didn't you?" The unknown anger that I had was boiling up again. The thought of Ryder with Victoria made me sick. No, correction, the thought of Ryder with any girl made me sick.
He sighed, "Yes, but I regret it to no end." The anger surged through me. I abruptly stood up. "Marley, she's the past. Forget the past and continue with the future, right?"
