It's coming
I can feel the water
Slowly crawling onto my chest
My nose twitches
With the scent of saltI always knew
It would come to this
But your obvious lies
And my obvious ignorance
Were an equation for disasterYou were stuck at sea
And I was your life raft
I knew
Once you got to shore
You'd leave me
To drift away
But I never realized
You'd let go so soonIt's coming
The water slowly seeps into my nostrils
My lungs begin to sputter & spur in distress
But I remain calm
The only way to stop the fire
Is to add more waterMy eyes sigh a final goodbye
Soaking in one last glimpse
Of the world
I'd never missedI see you standing over me
Watching
Maybe this is what you wanted
All along
To watch me give up
And sink
You always had a sick mind
Perhaps even moreso than mineI close my eyes
And open my mouth
The sea is sucked in
Like a vacuum
I push myself down
To speed up the process
And so you don't have the pride
Of doing so with your own handsI hope as you relax & enjoy
Your vacational beach
That you remember
I'll find my way back to shore
And you can bet that this time
I'll be going home
And you'll be the anchor
To my vengeful sorrow
