Salty droplets cascading down skin
Brown, hazel, green, and blue dams are slowly breaking
More droplets fall, running into pink and red ravines
that can taste the salt the droplets bear
They used to be so bitter
They made molasses taste like Turkish coffee
They used to be so bitter
that grapefruits could replace cherries
but now, they're sweet
like melted milk chocolate on warm fingertips
They're sweet
like sugar stuck at the bottom of a lemonade glass
Those dams have never flooded with something so sweet
and the ravines don't know how to handle this explosion of luscious cheer
So the dams just give them more
They say too much of a good thing isn't so good
but for now, the pink and red ravines couldn't care less
They're just slowly arching into long lost, broken smiles
because they finally got to taste tears that weren't so sour
