Her eyes were once as bright as the moon
They shone & twinkled
like stars in the night sky
No one had ever seen so much brightness
from such a small, naïve girl
No one knew
How quickly her light would burn out.She had enough brightness in her
to light up the whole world
Yet as quick as a flash
It all
Burned
Out...Her light was no match
for the darkness around her
It consumed her
And turned out all the lights. Her twinkles were numbered
like street lights
It was only a matter of time
before the darkness became too much
And took away the light behind her eyes. Her eyes were once as bright as the moon
They shone and twinkled
like stars in the night sky
But she faded in the dark
And now, her once lovely eyes
have become cemetery eyes...Her cemetery eyes
As dead as the sky.
