Water in the Sea

Water, water in the sea
Tell me how long I must wait
Until I can swim with thee
Water, water in the sea
Tell me how long I must wait
Until I'm a part of thee

Your vanity is my cyanide
For I can't be as pretty a thee
Water, water in the sea
Why can't I be
The pretty girl I was supposed to be?

Perhaps brains are better than beauty
But no one cares what lies beneath
Whiplashed skin & fluted bones

Water, water in the sea
There's only one way
I can be like thee
Water, water in the sea
Hug my lungs until they burst
So I can finally be free
