What do you want?

Jamie and Eddie had just gotten into bed. Eddie was reading a parenting book, and Jamie was looking at case files. "Are we this old?" Eddie asked turning to Jamie with a smile. "Unfortunately it looks like it." He laughed. They were quiet for a while. "Hey Jamie?" Eddie asked, getting serious "hmm?" He mumbled not looking up. "Can I ask you something?" She asked cautiously. "Always, Eddie, you know you can ask me anything." He said looking up at her. "What do you want?" She asked putting a hand on her growing baby bump. "What do you mea-" he started, but realised what she was talking about. "Oh" he said quietly, looking down at her stomach. "Be honest, please" she begged. "As long as the baby and you are healthy, I'm happy" he said thoughtfully. "No, if you had a choice, would you want a boy, or another girl?" She asked. He thought this over for a minute before saying "a boy" Eddie smiled sadly, she had heard of men who had left because they wanted to have a boy, but they ended up with a girl instead. "What if it's a girl?" She asked, in a voice that was barley able to be heard. "Then we'll have another girl" he stated happily. "What do you want?" He asked, breaking the silence. "A girl." She said with a small smile. There was another long period of silence. "Okay, some people have early tours tomorrow, so I suggest we go to sleep." Jamie said putting down the case files. "Lucky me, I get to stay home all day with a mini hurricane." Eddie said sarcastically as she put her book on the nightstand that was beside the bed. "I love you." Jamie said kissing her. "I love you too." Eddie said after breaking the kiss. They both drifted of to sleep wondering what the new baby would be.
