Desk duty

"But sarge." Eddie started "no if,ands,or buts about it janko." Renzulie said. Eddie had just been assigned to desk duty until her maternity leave and she was anything but happy about it. "Please sarge." Eddie begged. "No, it too dangerous, for you and the baby, and your partner." Renzulie reasoned. Eddie put her hands on her hips and gritted her teeth, squaring her jaw in the process. She had been just leaving the locker room fully dressed in uniform when renzulie called her in. She hated desk duty, but he was right , it was too dangerous. "Fine." She said in a small voice. "Dismissed." He said as she slammed the office door, hard. "Something wrong?" Jamie asked trying to hide a smirk as she walked out of the office. She gave him a look that said 'shut the hell up before I kill you'  but instead she said "desk duty." She stalked to her desk for one very long day, Jamie knew she hated being behind the desk. "It was bound to happen. It's safe for you and for the baby,and you know it." He said all humour gone from his voice. "Yeah." She agreed, god she hated when he was right. "Well, I've got to hit the streets." He said cockily. "Be safe, little mama" he said with a smile. "What did you call me?" She asked, one side of her mouth turning into a smile. "It's perfect for you. You're little, you're a mom. See? Perfect fit." He explained as he started to walk away. " now I've got to go, can't be seen dead here." He said. "Hey?" She said before he was out of hearing range. "Hmmm" he hummed turning around. "Love you." She said smiling. "Love you too." He said returning her smile.
