Bunyip!Australia x Reader (part 2)

You go down to the zoo where you planned on meeting Jett. He's already there, waiting for you in front of the gate when you arrive.

"Hey Jett!" You call with a smile on your face as you approach him.

He smiles when he notices you. "Hey (Name)!"

"So we're having a zoo date?"

"Is there a problem with that?"

"No, it's just that I've never been on a zoo date before."

His smile widens. "Then yer in fer a real treat, (Name)." He steps aside and bows, gesturing towards the entrance to the zoo. "After you." You giggle and walk through the gate, then he follows.

You two spend the whole day walking around the zoo looking at all the animals, taking pictures and talking.

As promised, he tells you what he knows about the Bunyip without giving too much away to you. He tells you about his encounter with it. He ran into it one night and it tried to attack him because he was close to its nest/den, or so he thinks. He managed to get away, but just barely.

"Wow," you say as the two of you walk past the chimps.

"But, y'know, it was just protectin' its young," responds Jett. "I can see why it tried t' attack me. It's th' same with ev'ry other animal out there." His eyes land on a food shack. "Hey, are ya hungry?"

"A little, yeah."

"Ya wanna grab a bite?"

"Sure."

The two of you grab a snack and sit down on a nearby bench across from a pond. You start watching the ducks swimming around in the pond.

"I'm having a nice time," you tell Jett with a smile on your face once you finish your snack.

He smiles at you. "I'm glad."

You give him a quick peck on the cheek, which takes him by surprise. He starts blushing, which makes you giggle. You take his hand. "C'mon, I wanna see the crocodiles before it starts getting dark." You realize you could find them in the wild here but you'd rather not because them shits is dangerous. (Reference anyone?)

He smiles and nods to say okay. So the two of you walk through the rest of the zoo hand-in-hand. It was really fun and he's pretty funny at times. There's this statue of a lion roaring and he asks you to take a picture of him with his head in its mouth. You do and it looks like he's about it be eaten by the statue in the picture.

You two've seen just about everything there at this point, so you both start making your way towards the exit, stopping by the few you haven't seen yet on your way. The exit's through the gift shop and you two start looking at all the stuff there.

You're looking at a necklace when you feel someone tap your shoulder. You turn around to see Jett holding something behind his back. He then hands the thing to you, you seeing that it's a stuffed animal koala, and smiles brightly at you.

"Don't worry, I paid fer it," he tells you. You accept the koala and the two of you leave the gift shop. He offers to give you a ride back since you took the bus there. You accept and he drives you back to the house you're staying at.

"Today was fun," you tell him before you leave the car. "Thanks, Jett. We should do something like this again."

"Thanks fer sayin' yes," he replies. "Next time we can go ta th' aquarium."

"That sounds nice. Well, goodnight Jett." You give him a quick peck on the lips, then exit the car. Once he realizes what just happens, a smile grows into his face. Before you enter the house, you look over your shoulder and wave at him. He waves back and you go into the house. The both of you have a smile on your face for the rest of the day.
