Einherjar!Denmark x Reader (part 3)

You go down to the cemetery to see Matthias. You two've been hanging out for a while and you really like spending time with him. You think you may even have slight feelings for him. He's standing in front of his usual spot and looks like something's on his mind.

He sees you, takes a breath as if to stele himself and walks up to you, a look of determination on his face. "(Name), I need to tell you something. I don't know how to say this lightly so I'm just gonna say it. I'm a ghost."

"...I kinda figured as much," you respond.

He furrows his brow in confusion at you. "Wait, what? How?"

"You're standing in a tombstone right now, Matthias."

He looks down to see that he is, in fact, standing in the middle of a tombstone. It kinda looks like when people in video games glitch through things, except his from waist down is more translucent than his upper body.

You continue "I've seen you walk through things before now, even. You're not the most subtle person. It also explains why you run headfirst into battle without any regard for the life you don't have anymore." You continuing causes Matthias to look up at you.

"You're surprisingly calm right now."

"You're just lucky this isn't the weirdest thing I've seen or else I probably woulda flipped my shit."

He looks back up at you. "Then what is the weirdest thing you've seen?"

"Probably that one time a zombie tried approaching a wolf and the wolf pounced on it and the zombie lost its head and the wolf ran off with it. The body was just stumbling around for like half an hour. It ran into every single tree in that area at least once. Then it fell off a cliff."

"So, you don't care that I'm a ghost?"

"Of course not. I keep coming back because I like spending time with you, Matthias." You look at the name on the gravestone he's standing in. Matthias Khøler. "Is this your name?"

He looks down to read the name and realizes it's his. "Yeah. This is my grave."

You look at the date he was alive in. He died in the 1600s. "Wow, you're old."

He looks back up at you. "Hey!"

You laugh. "I'm just teasing, calm down."

"You know, I thought this would be a lot harder. I mean, I didn't expect you to be taking this so well."

"I like being unexpected." You smile at him. "Now c'mon. I just watched Suicide Squad and I really wanna kill something."

"What's Suicide Squad?"

"Remind me to show you that sometime. I think you'd like it. Now let's go find something to kill."
