Chapter 39: "When You Least Expect It"

Sam's P.O.V.

"I'm sorry about earlier, Harry. I know it's annoying."

"It's alright. It seemed like your whole family wanted to know."

"Yeah, they are all regular Sherlock Holmes." I replied making him chuckle.

"They all seem to be really protective of you."

"Yeah. By the way I think you're on fire." He pulled his stick back.  His marshmallow was on fire.

"Blow it out!" He blew it out pulling the marshmallow off the stick as I pulled my stick back pulling mine off as well. We were sitting on patio chairs by the fire roasting marshmallows. My family left an hour ago and my parents were inside it was around 9 o'clock. I looked over at the pool wanting to get in so badly because the water was warm.

"Do you want to go swimming?"

"No, I was thinking about going skinny dipping." I replied casually.

"What?" I laughed at his reply.

"Calm down, Harry I was just yanking your chain."

"Have you been skinny dipping before?" He asked.

"I don't think that is any of your business." I replied setting my stick down grabbing a Hershey bar.

"You know saying that already answers the question."

"Shut up, Styles." I replied making my s'more.

"I found those stories that your family told about you when you were little quite entertaining."

"Oh?" I replied.

"I feel like there is a lot more I still need to know about you."

"Oh? Well what else would you like to know?" I asked.

"How often did you run around naked when you were little?" I laughed.

"Did Mom tell you the story about me running around naked upstairs?"

"Yeah." He replied. Mom!!

"I can't believe she told you that. What other stories did she tell you?" He proceeded to tell me the stories, most of them being the embarrassing stories.

"I didn't realize they were all reminiscing that long." I said getting up to get my bathing suit. I got changed behind the curtain of the gazebo while he proceeded to tell me what I missed and some other embarrassing stories that he found to be "cute" and that he couldn't wait to see the pictures Mom told him about. I was trying to get the tie on the back of my bathing suit but I couldn't get it. I pushed the curtain back going down the steps while I held the strings of my bathing suit.

"Do you mind tying this for me?" I asked turning around putting my hair up.

"Sure." He replied taking the ties.

"I thought we were going skinny dipping."

"Tighter." I said ignoring his comment.

"How is that?" He asked.

"Good. Thanks." I replied as he made the knot. I turned around to face him.

"Are you coming?" I asked.

"Yeah." He replied taking his shirt off. Good god... I sat back down waiting for him.

A minute later he was standing by the ladder steps.

"Alright ladies first"

"So you can comment on my butt again. No thanks." I replied.

"Fine. Then I will go first so you can stare at my a**." He said going up the ladder steps. Nice butt. He got in then I went up the steps jumping in. I surfaced pushing my hair back. We relaxed for a little bit until I guess Harry got bored and decided to mess with me. I was floating on a raft when he decided to use my raft as an armrest. He folded his arms resting them on the raft.

"Yes?" I asked. He shook his head and just rested his head on his arms. I ignored it until a minute later I was underwater. I surfaced pushing my hair back.

"Oh you're so dead." I said lunging at him tackling him in the water. We fought for as long as we could until we had to resurface to get air. I had my arm around his neck from the side and I had my legs wrapped around his waist. I pushed my hair back so I was able to see. Harry had his arm around my waist.

"I'm still alive." He replied.

"It's your lucky day." I replied making him smirk.

"You have a nice family, Sam." He replied.

"Yeah, they're not bad."

"Now I see where you get your humor from."

"Oh you haven't met my Dad's family yet they're on a whole another level of crazy."

"So you're the normal one of your family?"

"You see it too?" I replied making him chuckle. I swam over to the raft hanging onto it. Soon after Harry did the same thing.

"What are you thinking about?" He asked.

"Why do you always ask me that? What are you thinking about?"

"You." He replied and I splashed him. He splashed me back.

"You're something else, Styles." I said laying my head on my arms facing him.

"You are not even going to get me back?" He replied.

"When you least expect it." I replied. We relaxed for a little bit but then I decided to get my revenge. I put my head up looking around then I pushed the raft away making him go face first into the water. I laughed so hard I thought I was going to cry. He came back up pushing his hair out of his eyes then he went back under pulling me down by my legs. I tried reaching for the pool wall but he had me. He pulled me under with him.

30 seconds later...

He pulled me up so we were above water now. I was breathing out trying to catch my breath, as was Harry. I had my arms around his neck putting about an inch of room between us.

"Come on we're turning into prunes." Harry said pulling me to the ladder. He let me go up the ladder first. Once I touched the ground he got out coming down the ladder. I grabbed a towel as my body shook from the air hitting my body. I put it around me as my teeth began to chatter then another towel was wrapped around me.

"Harry..." I said as he rubbed up and down my arms. I looked at his eyes. The lights from the deck and the fire reflecting on his orbs. He moved his hand up to my cheek staring back into my eyes. His face came closer until his face was about an inch away from mine. My heart started beating out of my chest. I looked at his lips for a split second then I looked back into his eyes. The space between us joined as he attached his lips to mine as his warm lips wrapped around my bottom lip.
