Thirty-sixth Act, The world of the living (part six)

(Aizen's p.o.v)

A while after we kissed, we continued to watch the second round of fireworks exploding in the snowy night sky. We occasionally took sips from our hot chocolate to keep us warm.

That is, until I felt her leaning on me. "Aizen, let's go home...I want to catch some zs...I'm really, really tired."

I placed an arm around her and left the park, taking a taxi. Throughout the whole ride, her head constantly fell on my shoulder, only to jerk upwards when she suddenly jolts awake.

"It will tire her even more if she keeps on trying to stay awake..." I thought.

As soon as her head sat snugly on my shoulder, I leaned my head against hers. I saw a small smile creep up her lips, her eyes remaining closed.

"Are you feeling sleepy too, Aizen?"

"You keep on jolting awake. You should rest for a bit while we're not moving."

"And fall into a deep sleep, giving you the chance to sweep me off my feet and romantically take me back to our room? No, thank you."

I let out a soft chuckle. "You will fall asleep anyway. Don't try to fight it."

A little while later, she finally fell asleep. We were still in the taxi though, stuck in some traffic. "I'm very sorry, sir...I hope you don't mind waiting a little longer..."

"That's alright. I don't really mind staying here for hours or days, as long as I'm with her." I said.

The driver smiled a little. "I guess that's good to hear...just curious, what is your relationship with her?"

Surprisingly, I haven't thought about that yet even though so much time has passed. "Well, I don't really know...but she loves me a lot."

He just hm-ed then all of us sat in silence, except for the occasional soft moan that (name) let out when she shifted her position.

When we arrived at the hotel entrance, I carried her in my arms and was about to head up the steps when the driver called out,

"Just a bit of advice, sir! Show her how much you love her, even in the little things! She will really appreciate it. And remember...never leave her when she needs you the most."

I gave him a nod then carried her all the way to our room, gently setting her down on the bed and pulling the covers over her.

"Good night, (name). Sleep well." I whispered quietly, before kissing the top of her head.

I watched her sleep for a bit then stood up, turning on the kitchen lights. I feel rather hungry. I'll cook myself a light meal, then.

I was about to open the refridgerator when someone spoke.

"Yare yare, ya left without givin' anyone a short notice or anythin'! Yer drivin' the arrancars nuts wonderin' where ya disappeared to."

"Gin." I said, glancing behind me to see the exact same fox-like face.

What exactly...is he doing here?
