Chapter 23, Saturday

Kara's POV

Saturday couldn't have came any quicker. All week since Tuesday, the lacrosse team has been practicing some football plays after our lacrosse practice to get ready for the challenge. At home, Sage has been laughing at Colton and I, trying to intimidate us to lose. He can wish all he wants, but it won't work. 

The challenge will start at ten-thirty, this morning and I'm sooo pumped to get this over with. No more stupid rivalry ever again and messing with each other. Colton drove both of us over to Lewis Day park, where it's all to go down. We met up with the varsity team and a few good players from the jv team. 

"Ready to beat football butt?" Noah asked. 

"I'm ready to make them wear dresses on Monday." Reese says. 

"Hahaha totally." We all laugh aloud. 

"Lacrosse fags! ready to go down." We all turn our heads behind us to see the football team standing their smirking, with their leader in the middle. 

"Shut up Sage! Shouldn't talk smack before you lose." Shawn growls at him. 

"Us? Come on, you lacrosse freaks just don't know your place. Will remind you were you belong." Micah, one of Sage's best friends says back. 

"Then let's get started." I say standing up from the ground.

Sage's team stands on the right side of the fifty yard line. While our team stands on the left side of the fifty yard line. 

"Hey wait!" Asher yells running up to us. 

"What do you want?" Aiden asks him. 

"I want to help you guys play against them." He says switching his wait from one foot to another.

"No way! He's a football guy!" a tall black guy named, Mike says. 

"Who cares? He's a traitor anyways." Sage sneers. 

"I'm your brother, your twin!" Asher yells back at him. 

"We can use your help Asher." I tell him. 

"Thanks Kara." Asher thanks me and then goes and lines up ready to go. 

Sage's team and my team line up on the field ready to go. Sage grabs the football and drops it for a low kick for our team to catch. Mike catches the ball, and the rest of us surround him, blocking anyone who gets in our way. Reese knocks down Damian in the process. Beckett knocks down Mike on the 35 yard line on Sage's side. 

"Hut, Hut, Hike!" Sage says, he catches the ball and then takes a few steps back quickly. The rest of the team tackles the other guys, including me. I take down some skinny guy named, Rory. Sage passes the ball to his teammate, they catch it and start running towards the end zone. But lucky for us, Asher tackles them down on the nearest feet. 

Colton intercepts the ball and passes it off to John who just sprints down the field. Until Toby (football guy) tackles them down. 

"Stay on the ground if you know what's good for you." Toby shouts at him. 

John picks himself up off the ground and walks back towards us. Ten yards after ten yards the football guys gave us a run for our money. They held us and knocked us down harder than ever. By the second have the score 37 to 7. Guess who the 7 is? Yeah it's us. 

"Getting tired losers?" Sage mocks us. 

"Back of freak!" Noah shouts back. 

"Calm down Noah!" John shouts at him.

"Whatever losers."Sage laughs holding onto his stomach as he walks off. 

"Maybe we should quit? Its done." Reese says.
