FT: Loki x Reader

'How can I be yours, When you belong to her'

Anyone who ever met Loke knew he was a player. Everyone knew it was a bad idea to fall in love with him, but I just couldn't help myself.
I fell for him and I fell hard.

I remember telling him my feelings. I had never been so scared in my life. Yet to my surprise he told me he felt the same. As first I was a little sceptical but he dumped all his other girlfriends and we started a relationship.

Then I found out about him a Celestial Spirit. I knew about him being bound to Lucy and having to live in Spirit realm. I knew the strain it would put on our relationship but I still tried to make it work.

Only problem is now I can't cope anymore.

We'll be in the middle of a date and he'll suddenly have to dash off to assist Lucy. He'll then either return to me battered and bruised or not return at all for a few days. It was torturous trying to continue our relationship with all these new constraints. Hence causing more and more arguments to happen between the two of us. A bit like the one we found ourselves currently engaged in.

"...I can't keep doing this Loke! You left me in the restaurant by myself waiting for you for 4 hours! 4 hours I waited and you still never came back! Do you have any idea how embarrassing that was for me?!?" I shout nearly in tears.

"I'm sorry. You know i have to go when Lucy summons me. It's one of the terms of our contract and my being alive" He explains.

"I get that. And the one time you ignored her and sent Virgo in her place she almost died. So I get that when she calls you have to go running. But it'd be nice to be told I didn't have wait" I retorted.

"You could have left sooner! I never asked you to wait for so long" He said his voice raising as his anger builds.

"No! But you know why I did?!? Because for once I thought I would be more important to you!" I shouted tears falling.
"For once I thought you'd come back and we could finish our semi normal date"

"Look I get we can never have a normal relationship, what with you being the leader of the zodiac and all that. With you having to live in the spirit world or you end up dying. But for just once I wanted to come first" I cry. My insecurities finally released

"You might now always come first, but you'll always be my girl. And I'll always love you" Loke says his hand reaching up to wipe away your tears.
"I love you. And only you. My girl"

"How can I be yours when you belong to her?" I whisper tears falling softly.

"I may belong to her but only my body. My heart will always belong to you and you have to know that. I'm so sorry we have to fight" He says leaning forward to kiss my forehead.

"I love you to Loke. But I can't keep doing this" I say voice trembling.
"I can't keep waiting for her to be done with you. Can't keep staying awake worrying if your alright when you don't come home. Can't keep sleeping on my own every night because you can't stay that long. Can't keep waking up on my own"

"Please don't say what I think your about to" He pleaded.

"I'm sorry Loke...." I begin, moving my hand up to stroke his hair through my fingers.
"I love you, but I can't be with you anymore"

"No. Please don't say that" He says tears spilling from his crystal blue eyes.

"I have to. My heart can't take it anymore. Loving you is so hard but please know I wouldn't ever stop even if I could. I Love you Loke. Only you, now and forever" I said wiping his tears.

"One final kiss?" He pleaded
"Before I have to give you up forever. One last kiss is all I ask for"

"A final kiss" I mumble before cupping his cheeks in my hands.

"Please know I will always love you too. My little lioness"

"And I will always love you to. My lion king."

And with that our lips connected for one final time. I kissed the man I loved one final time.
