Chapter Six--
"Watcha writing?" I ask Nick as I leaned over the back of the couch and watched him write something down."I'm rewriting the lyrics of my new single." Nick says, not looking at me but continuing to scribble on the page. I looked at the top of it and it simply read, 'Close' ft. Tove Lo.
"Rewriting?"
"Yeah. I'm doing the music video tomorrow. I could've done if today, but we just got back from tour and I just wanted some time to relax." He looks at me this time, kissing me lightly.
"Cool. Can't wait, you'll do great." I smile, returning a longer kiss on his lips.
"And then after that, I have to meet my brothers in a few days to shoot the video for Pom Poms. We're going to New Orleans for it. You gonna come?"
"I may consider it." I sarcastically say, but he already knew my answer. Yes. I always seize every chance I get to spend time with him. I continue leaning over the couch, reading the lyrics. I wasn't exactly the greatest in music, but Nick sure as hell was.
"Sooo.....it's a duet, I'm guessing?" I walk around the couch to go and sit by him.
"Yup. With Tove Lo, you've met her before." Nick tells me, looking closely at what he wrote down.
"I think I remember." I say, leaning my head on his shoulder. Nick kisses the side of my head and puts an arm around me.
"Hey! It's a nice day out, wanna go on the jet skis?" Nick asks, his tone bright.
"Oh my gosh yessssss!" I get up from the couch and jump up and down.
"Great. I'll go get them from the garage and get them on the trailer." He says, going to where we keep our keys. Our garage is a three car garage, so we can fit a lot in there. Nick claims to love jet skis and him and I went on them once. It was the first time I'd ridden one. And it was awesome. I went into the bedroom to change out of my pajamas and into actual clothes. I chose a pair of ripped shorts and a loose crop top. I put my hair up in a messy bun and added some waterproof eyeliner to my eyes, as well as some Chapstick to my lips. I slipped my feet into some Coach flip flops and grabbed my sunglasses. I walked out to our garage, Elvis trotting behind me. It was a really nice day out, about 70 degrees and sunny.
"Need any help?" I ask, putting my sunglasses at the top of my head.
"Can you help me get Blue on the trailer?" Nick looks over to me, his black sunglasses hanging from his shirt.
"Yeah, are we only taking Blue?" Nick and I thought it'd be a good idea to identify the jet skis by names because both of them look so much alike. Blue, actually wasn't blue at all. She was actually a mix of colors. Yes, they are 'girls' at my request. The other one, Red, was a mix of colors as well, but she had a spot of white paint that Nick added to her so we could tell them apart.
"No, we can take Red too if you want." He says as we push Blue up on the trailer. Nick's back muscles flex every time tries to pick up the watercraft. And you can clearly see them through his shirt. We finally get the jet ski on the trailer and work on getting the other one.
"I'm gonna go change quick, then we can go." My boyfriend says to me, giving me a light kiss on the cheek. I nod and Elvis is laying on the cement floor of the garage, panting. I go over and pet his head, looking over to the trailer that holds the jet skis, which is attached to a big, black Ram pick up.
Some time later, Nick comes out in his swimming trunks and a black tank top that shows off his muscles. He slips on his sunglasses, and looks like he's walking in slow motion.....or maybe it's just me dreaming it.
"Ready to go? I'm excited." He rubs his hands together, smiling brightly.
"Yeah. Just let me put Elvis inside," I look over to the dog," come on boy." I whistle for him to follow. I quickly put Elvis in the house, giving him another pet before locking him in the house for the next couple of hours. When I get out to the driveway, Nick is already in the truck. I climb in the passenger seat, having to hold on to the seat in order to get up in the tall vehicle.
"Why is your truck so big again?" I ask once I get in. Nick starts it up, causing it to roar to life, before continuing.
"I like it. I've always wanted one too." He shrugs and smiles as we drive down the road to the beach he reserved, rolling the windows down. Nick had a small shore beach for himself 24/7. He'd bought it when he finally settled down here, and it's absolutely gorgeous by the water. When he first took me there, I was instantly in love with it. Nick pulled up to the beach after about a half hour of jamming out to the radio.
"And here we are." He shuts the truck off and smiles at me over his sunglasses.
"Yay!" I give a little clap and jump out of the truck. Yes, I literally had to jump out of it. I ran to the trailer and opened the small tailgate of it.
"Hang on there." Nick chuckles, coming over to assist me. He opens the tailgate and starts to undo the straps that held the jet skis to the trailer itself. That was when Nick realized that he needed to back up to the water in order to get the jet skis in the water safely.
"Stand over there so I can back up." He tells me, and I go and stand by some rocks. Nick backs up the truck smoothly and then gets out. I slip off my crop top, leaving my strapless, blue bikini top showing, and my shorts still on. I take those off too, showing my blue bikini bottoms. When Nick gets his shirt off, I help him get the water crafts into the water and we start them up, floating side by side.
"I'm gonna beat you this time." I smirk at my boyfriend, slipping on my sunglasses.
"I don't think so babe." And with that, he winks over his sunglasses and then starts taking off ahead of me.
"Hey! You got a head start!" I yell behind him, speeding to catch up with him. I laugh as I pass him, leaving him behind me, speechless. I whip around to face him as he slowly pulls up by me.
"You got a head start, not fair. We can't be friends anymore." I stick out my bottom lip in a pouting manner and make my eyes big.
"Oh really? I think I can change that." There's a devilish smirk on Nick's face and I furrow my brows.
"I don-" I'm cut off by his soft lips on mine. I hadn't realized that he pulled his jet ski closer to mine. His tongue grazed my bottom lip, begging for entrance into my mouth. I didn't fight, but put my hands on his neck. He is the first to pull away and leave me breathless.
"That's always your way of fixing things." I continue to pout.
"But it works, doesn't it?" He knows that he's won. I don't say a word, but just drive off and Nick rides over the waves that I leave behind me. That was my favorite part. But I also loved racing him. We spent the next hour or so messing around on the jet skis, racing each other, and just riding around.
"Nick! Put me down!" I yell, lightly hurting my fists into his bare back as I'm slung over his shoulder. Nick and I had parked the jet skis and he thought it'd be a good idea to go for a swim.
"I like the view, so I think not." I can hear the smirk in his voice as he slaps my butt. I squeak in surprise before I feel myself get plunged into the water.
