"I don't understand Juwany, why won't you just tell her?" My mom asked.
I took another bite of pizza and sighed. "Ma I just don't wanna tell her yet. I will, when I'm ready."
"Juwany she's not gonna stop speaking to you because you've found something you're good at. If she's really your friend she'll be happy for you."
"I know mom." I sighed, annoyed of the conversation. I'll tell Vanessa when I'm ready.
After we finished eating I tore up the pizza box and took the trash out. Then I did the dishes and went upstairs to take a shower.
"Why is this so hard?" I asked myself as I put on fresh pajamas. "She won't even care, it doesn't matter."
But it does matter. It matters a lot. If Vanessa and I have any chance at being friends again...I need her support.
I layed in bed, with my light off, and my eyes closed, but sleep wouldn't shut up my thoughts. I looked at the time on my phone: 11:14pm.
It's not THAT late...
I sent Vanessa a text, hoping her response would bring me relief.
-Hey Nessa, I can come over tomorrow to help you unpack if you want... (11:14pm)
-Really!? That would be amazing! Thanks. (11:15pm)
-No problem. Goodnight. (11:15pm)
-Goodnight (11:16pm)
I fell asleep with ease.
