We got to the facility earlier than I thought.
I hopped out of the car and walked up the path to the front door.
I looked back and waved goodbye to Mom. I took a deep breath then pushed open the door and walked in.
A leathery scent greeted me. I took some more breaths and let the smell relax me.I walked down the hallway and entered my training room.
Ms.Elliyot was already there waiting for me. Her black hair was pulled back into a tight ponytail in the center of her head, making her look like a genie. She wore tight black yoga pants and a gray tank top and with her arms crossed, she looked like an older woman, when in reality, she was actually 25.
"Are you ready, Aria?" She asks me.
"Yeah."
"Ok then, start with some stretches."
For the next 20 minutes, I stretched out every part of my body, from my toes to my neck and everything in between.
Then, I had some more extensive training. Elliyot pulled on some boxing gloves and some padded shoes and handed me a pair.
For the next hour, we fought. Not to injure each other or anything, but to make me stronger. We fought hard and we didn't go easy on each other. Sweat poured off our bodies and dripped onto the floor. We punched, we kicked, we did whatever, because that how you fight in the real world. Dirty.
By the time we were done, our tank tops were plastered to our bodies.
"Senior Jameson is in Redemption Hall," Elliyot told me after we finished. She packed up her stuff and left me at the stairs.
I walked up the stairs leading up to the hall.
Senior Jameson is supposed to teach me how to control my powers. More about those later.
I walked into the hall and sat on one of the mats that were placed throughout the corridor.
"Aah, Aria! How are you today?" Jameson asks me.
"Fine," I say tiredly.
"Are you ready?"
"Yes."
"Ok, first question...... What are you?"
I look Jameson in the eye like I was taught, I take a deep breath, and say,
"I am a grim reaper."
