That's what I'd tell myself
Every single day.
Try to plant it in my mind,
"I was born this way."
I couldn't even smile,
The way I did before,
Sadness overwhelmed me,
Crying on the floor.
"What wrong have I ever done,
For me to be like this?"
I asked myself this all to much,
"Why can't I live in bliss?"
Forgetting all the harmful words,
I finally let it be,
I would hold it back no more,
Finally I'd be me.
Anxious as I was,
I went to school that day.
I knew my friends would love me
Even though I'm gay.
