Hey guys! This is the Behind the Scenes chapter for "Records Later, Still Confined". Enjoy!

Remember those quotes in the special sneak preview for this story? Those were the first things of this story to be written. I wrote those quotes before I even started planning this story. I wrote the story AROUND those quotes.

This story was originally much more violent than it is now. I came to the realization though that there are probably 11/12 year old kids reading this story though and even as it was it was too violent for them. Like, originally in the dream rape scene Marcus raped Riley anally and orally as well and started to lick her blood - like it was BRUTAL, but I decided to tone it down. I also originally had Marcus be a menophile as well (one who fetishes periods) but then realized that Riley was on birth control at the time when she was in captivity (the first story talks about this if you don't remember) so she likely didn't have a period anyway. If you guys would like to see me get more violent or brutal, I have an Alternate Endings 2 and my Hybrid Stories (which will be explained when I get to that point) that will include Riley so I could go more in depth there if you guys think you can stomach it.

It is stated that Evelyn has roses hanging from the rear view mirror from her car, that she has a wreath of roses on her front door, that there is a vase of roses (fake roses, so they'll last forever) in her apartment, and that Max's middle name is Rose. Catching onto the pattern? We know that Max's "thing" with her dad, Gavin, was hair bows. Roses were Evelyn and Gavin's thing. The fact that Evelyn still has so many roses around just goes to show how much she still loves and misses her late husband.

When Max got drunk, it is stated that she sat down next to Evelyn in hopes that Evelyn would yell at her or lecture her for drinking; instead, Evelyn did nothing. Max thinks that this is because Evelyn doesn't care; but if anything, it's the exact opposite. See, it is stated that when Adam gets mad at Max, it's because Max had Adam's good liquor, and Evelyn knew this. Evelyn stayed quiet because if she spoke up, she was afraid it would get Adam's attention and it would spark something bad. It was better to keep quiet and let Max drink rather than yelling at her and risking Adam over hearing and joining into the yelling. Obviously, though, this didn't work.

It is made obvious in the story that Chris and Sabrina like to "eavesdrop" on Riley when she's singing, and Riley knows about it. They do it because they like to hear Riley sing but she hardly does it for them or around them. However, Chris and Sabrina would NEVER eavesdrop on Riley for any other thing because they respect her privacy, and Riley also knows this; which is why she is so okay with the fact that Chris and Sabrina listen to her sing, because she knows they would never eavesdrop on her in real life. This is why in chapter 26 when Riley finishes singing "Like I'm Gonna Lose You", she starts counting backwards from 15, because she knows that that's exactly how long it takes for her parents to be out of earshot from how often they listen to her singing.

In chapter 11 when Riley gets called into the office and sees Sabrina looking upset, Riley asks, "Is It Dad?". This is because, having seen Sabrina there and looking upset, Riley's first thought was that something bad had happened to Chris while he was gone.

In chapter 2, Jack says the top that Riley is wearing looks like a top that Phoebe used to have and even showed them a picture of Phoebe in it. It is also mentioned that Phoebe has blonde hair and blue eyes and that Riley got the top while she was still in captivity. The top actually WAS Phoebe's. It was Phoebe's and she wore it often because it was her favorite. She was even wearing it when she was killed. After he killed her, Marcus took the top and gave it to Riley since Riley was in his captivity at the time. See, even though Riley was significantly younger than Phoebe, they both had blonde hair and blue eyes and maybe a couple other SMALL things in common; enough for Marcus to pretend that Riley WAS Phoebe whenever he raped her.
