Ashton's POV
The digital clock on my bedside table read 5:42. I was currently lying in my bed with Luke against me. I didn't want to rest against him just in case it hurt his ribs and chest, so I let him be the little spoon.

I was sure Luke didn't realise I was awake because I couldn't sleep. The image of him bruised, battered and covered in blood was still fresh in my mind and I could hardly bear it. I don't think Luke had slept at all, but I couldn't blame him. His mind was probably swimming with the events of yesterday and he would still be sore.

"Luke" I whispered and he jumped slightly.

"Jesus Ash!" He exclaimed, shifting to face me.

"Sorry" I giggled and Luke let a small laugh escape his lips.
I got up and out of bed and grabbed a blanket that was lying in the corner of my room.

"Ash it's 5:45?" Luke said, raising his eyebrow questionably.

"Come on" I said to him, holding my free hand out to him.

He got up, stretching and rubbing his eyes before wandering over to me.
I took his hand in mine and guided him out of the apartment and up a long flight of stairs. We reached the top floor and were faced with a rusty metal door. I tried pushing on the door but it was jammed. I gave it a shove with my shoulder and it gave way, opening and making me fall to the ground. Luke was in a fit of laughter as I lay on the cold concrete sulking. When Luke's laughing died down and he had composed himself, he offered me a hand up.

Once I was up and had brushed myself off I took Luke round the back of the chimneys where we faced city. I had taken Luke onto the roof of the building so we could look down at the city and watch the sun rise above us.

"Come sit" I told him as I positioned myself at the edge of the rooftop.

He sat down next to me so our shoulders were touching and I draped the blanket over us.

The sun had began to peek over the buildings in the distance, lighting up the sky in hues of orange, pink and blue. The sky transitioned from a vibrant orange to a pink and faded out to blue the further up it got. I looked over at Luke whose face was glowing amber from the rising sun. The colours bled across the city and reflected in the windows of buildings.

We sat in silence, a world of noise beneath us.  Luke reached over and laced his finger with mine, before sighing out in content. We didn't speak; we didn't need to. We just watched the cars speed past and the silhouettes of people rush along the streets below us as the sun climbed higher and higher in the sky.

The sun had nearly fullen risen now and the sky which was a neon orange not long ago, was now a faded pink and bright blue.

"Do you have a bucket list?" Luke suddenly spoke, his voice overpowering the hum of the city.

"What?" I asked in confusion.

"You know, like goals or dreams you want to achieve?" He explained.

"Well I guess I've always wanted to play music for a living but that's basically impossible. On a smaller scale though, I have a list of concerts I would love to go to and I've always wanted to get a tattoo, but like a small meaningful one." I tell him and he smiles.

"Do you?" I ask

"Yeah, I've always wanted to just get a plane ticket to a random destination and explore the place I end up."

"That's actually a really cool idea" I told him, mentally adding that to my bucket list too.

"I've already crossed one thing off my bucket list" he told me grinning.

"What?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows in curiosity.

"A kiss in the rain" he said blushing slightly.

A smile crept onto my face and I leaned in and pecked him on the lips.

I didn't think it was possible for a person to like another person this much, but Luke proved me wrong.

This is a pretty short chapter but it's kinda like a filler. Hope you enjoyed it anyways and thanks for reading 😊
