Luke's POV
I had skipped school yesterday and I decided I should probably come in today, however I was regretting that decision as I sat in Maths class and paper balls hit me on the back of the head. The Jocks who had jumped me a few day before had now resulted to throwing stuff at me in class and shouting rude comments at me as I passed them in the corridors, along with a shove or a push.
Another paper ball hit my head and I scrunched my fists up in anger and annoyance.
"Ignore them" a voice said from beside me and I whipped my head around to see a guy looking at me, his face full of sympathy.
He had big, chocolatey brown eyes and dark brown hair that was relatively straight but was beginning to go curly at the ends. He had a streak of blond in his fringe which enhanced his deep brown eyes and his skin was tanned.
"Thanks" I mumbled, forcing a smile towards him and looking back down at my book.
"You and your boyfriend look cute together. I saw you in the car the other morning. Wait... You are in a relationship right?" He said, beginning to ramble.
"Thanks and yeah, we're dating." I told him, smiling to myself.
"I'm Calum" he said grinning.
"Luke" I said, genuinely smiling this time.
"Hemmings, Hood, get on with your work" our teacher commanded, his voice monotone.
"Yes sir" we both mumbled before getting our heads down and continuing with the trigonometry sums he'd given us.
I had nearly finished all mine and I glanced over at Calum, whose face was scrunched up in confusion and he harshly scribbled out his work on his paper in frustration.
"The answers 12.9" I told him
He looked up at me and furrowed his eyebrows. "What?"
"Well you should have used SinA and cross multiplied that with SinC which gives you 30.9sin9 over sin158. Then you type that into the calculator and it comes to 12.90373703 which you round to 12.9" I say going through and explaining the sum to him.
He still looks confused for a second then his face lights up with realisation.
"Oh i used sinB" he says as he fixes his work.
"Thanks man" he says smiling widely.
"No problem" I tell him smiling back.
"Hemmings, do you want a detention?" The teachers voice booms across the class at me.
"No sir" I reply realising everyone was now watching me.
"Well don't talk in my class or you'll be getting one" he tells me and I nod my head quickly. A few people snigger at this and I feel my face flushing red. I put my head down, hoping not to draw anymore attention to myself.
The bell eventually rings and I grab my school bag and dash out of the class as quick as I can. I didn't want to get stuck back there when the Jocks left their classes.
I was one of the first people out of the school building and I rushed down the street to my apartment. I longed to go to Ashton's apartment instead but I couldn't, he had a doctors appointment.
I had made it to my apartment and I fumbled with my keys, trying to slot them into the lock. I got them in and I twisted the key, opening the door to my messy apartment.
I now spent more time at Ashton and Michaels place than my own. They had a bigger and nicer apartment and I preferred it to my own. This meant that the less time I was spending at my apartment, the messier it got, and I was in no mood to clean it.
I pulled out my phone and typed a quick "I miss you" text to Ashton and sent it, before I locked the screen and flopped onto my bed.
This is another short, filler chapter but the next ones going to be quite long. Thanks again for reading :)
