Tried to lighten the mood a little with this chapter since the last few have been sad lmao.
Ashton's POV
"Where are we going?" I asked as I clicked in my seat belt in Michaels car."If I tell you it'll ruin the surprise!" Luke said, laughing at how excited I was getting.
I had gotten up this morning and Luke had told me he was taking me out for a surprise. Michael was driving us since Luke hadn't gotten his license yet and I was in no fit state to drive.
Michael turned on the radio, Green Day blasting from the speakers. We sung along and I smiled to myself, today was a day when we were all in good spirits.
10 minutes later and Michael pulled the car over at the side of the street.
"Call me when you're done and I'll come pick you up." Michael called as we stepped out the car.
"Thanks man, will do!" Luke replied before slamming the car door shut.
"A tattoo shop?" I asked, cocking my head slightly as we stood in front of a tattooist.
"Yeah well I remembered you saying that on your bucket list you wanted to get a small, meaningful tattoo, so here we are!" Luke exclaimed, grinning from ear to ear.
"But why now Luke?" I asked.
"Cause well... You know..."
"Luke" I sighed "I'm getting treatment, it's going to be okay."
"Yeh, I know, but you still want to do it right?" He asked me, doubting his idea.
"Of course!" I said, unable to keep still from excitement and glee.
"Come on then!" Luke said, grabbing my hand and pulling me into the shop.
The shop smelt sterile and the faint sound of a needle buzzing in another room could be heard. Tattoo designs covered the walls and a lanky man with many piercings and tattoos stood behind the counter.
"What can I do for you guys?" He asked us.
"Ashton here," Luke pointed towards me, "would like to get a tattoo done."
"Do you know what design you'd like?" He asked addressing me.
"Yeh" I replied, slightly nervous now.
"What design?" Luke asked curiously.
"It's a surprise" I told him smirking and he laughed.
The tattooist led me through to a small room through the shop. He has all his equipment laid out on a table, ready to be used. He had me sit down in a chair and describe my design to him. He gave me a scrap of paper and a pencil and I sketched out my tattoo. He made adjustments to my drawing and got the tattoo needle ready.
It took roughly 30 minutes for my tattoo design to be inked into my skin. I chosen to get it done on my left wrist since I wanted it to be small. The tattooist had covered it and instructed me not to get it wet for 48 hours.
I left the small room with a smile plastered on my face as I made my way over to Luke, who was sitting on a chair waiting for me. His eyes flickered from my face to my wrist, desperate to see my new tattoo.
"Can I see it?" Luke asked impatiently.
I chuckled before very slowly removing the bandage, teasing him.
"Hurry up Ash" Luke laughed and I grinned, knowing that my teasing was working.
I eventually removed the bandage so that my tattoo was visible. Luke's eyes widened and his mouth dropped.
"Ash...its-its...omg" he said but he was lost for words.
I moved my wrist in different angles, admiring my tattoo. I had gotten Luke's name written in a scroll-type font across my wrist, with a simple, little heart underneath.
"Do you like it?" I asked
"Love it" he replied, pulling me in for a hug.
We left the shop, hand in hand, when I realised I hadn't paid.
"Crap, I didn't pay!" I exclaimed to Luke.
"Oh it's fine, I already paid." Luke replied casually.
"Luke you shouldn't have done that" I exclaimed, knowing the boy didn't have a lot of money since he was still in school.
"I wanted to." he told me, placing his hand on my lower back and pulling me towards him. Our lips connected and I felt sparks between us. Luke's soft lips moved in sync with mine and our noses brushed together. The kiss was short yet I felt like I was flouting on cloud nine.
Luke called Michael and we stood next to each other with our hands laced, while we waited for him to arrive. Not long later his car pulled up and we jumped in. Blink-182 was blaring from the speakers and he turned it down before he spoke.
"Let's see the tattoo!"
I uncovered my wrist again and held it out for Michael to see.
"Wow that's so cool!" He exclaimed, squinting his eyes to look at it closer.
The tattoo was red and still slightly sore but the tattooist said it would heal within a couple of days.
Luke turned the radio back up and began singing along to 'I miss you' by Blink 182. I leaned back in my seat, knowing I'd always remember this day.
