Luke's POV
I awoke the next morning feeling groggy and stiff. I had spent the night curled up in a chair next to Ashton's hospital bed. The hospital was very quiet due to it being the early hours of the morning and I could only hear the faint beeping of machines and Ashton's breathing whilst he slept. The hospital smelt so sterile that it was marking me feel slightly nauseous.I tried my best not to think about depressive things but it was close to impossible when I was left alone with my thoughts. Loads of scenarios ran through my head, all of them involving Ashton, and all of them involving a bad ending. I tried to block these thoughts out by squeezing my eyes shut but they wouldn't go away.
My eyes searched around the room for something to else to focus on, and they ending up settling on Ashton. I looked down at his wrist where his sleeve was rolled up slightly and his tattoo was visible. I focused on it, the symmetrical heart, my name flowing in ink lettering and my thoughts slowly cleared.

-"Morning guys" Michael said as he walked through the door.
"You're up early" Ashton commented as Michael grabbed a chair and pulled it over to his bedside, sitting down.
"I missed my best-friend" he said to Ashton smiling.
"I missed you too" Ashton giggled.
"Luke you should go home, get a shower and freshen up, I'll stay here with Ashton" Michael told me and I agreed. I felt digusting and I really needed a shower so I grabbed my bag from the corner of the room and said goodbye to the boys.
I walked past reception, the small blonde women no longer there but replaced with a skinny brunette. I walked down the streets and to my apartment, which I no longer spent a lot of time in.
Once in my apartment I searched my closet for a clean shirt and a clean pair of skinny jeans before grabbing a towel and heading for the bathroom. I took off my creased clothes and hopped into the shower. I let the warm water flow down my back, relaxing me. I spent a lot longer in the shower than I actually needed to but the hot water relaxed my body and my mind.
I eventually stepped out of the shower and dried myself off before putting on my clean clothes. I brushed my teeth and freshened myself up, my wet hair still dripping. I picked up my keys, my phone and my bag and then left the apartment to head back to the hospital.
I took my time walking to the hospital, knowing that Michael was with Ashton and he wasn't alone. I had put my headphones in, blocking out everything around me with Nickelbacks 'How you remind me.'
I felt a hand on my shoulder and I spun around to see who it belonged to. I was met with Calum whose face was etched with worry. He was wearing a 'Dropdead' vest shirt and a pair of skinny jeans like mine. His dark brown hair was messy and stuck up in all directions and his chocolate coloured eyes searched my blue ones.
I pulled my headphones out my ears and gave Calum a confused look.
"Are you okay?" He asked me and I was confused as to why he cared.
"I'm fine" I told him just wanting to get away so I could go see Ashton again.
"What was the whole 'running-out-of-class' thing about yesterday then?" He questioned and I suddenly remember what had happened.
"Oh...em...I had to go see my friend in hospital." I told him and his face fell.
"Oh I'm so sorry Luke" he said, now regretting asking me.
"No it's fine" I told him, feeling kinda bad for making him feel guilty about asking.
"So where are you going?" He asked, attempting to change the subject.
"To the hospital" I told him and he looked even more guilty.
"Omg I'm so sorry for holding you up, I'll just go" he apologised before turning to leave.
"Calum!" I called after him and he turned back to look at me.
"Thanks" I said.
"For what?" He asked, confused.
"For caring" I told him giving him a small smile.
"No problem" he replied grinning and we both went our separate ways.

I made it to hospital and I let the the automatic doors open for me as I walked in. The hospital was busier than it was when I left this morning and I tried to dodge everyone rushing about. I followed the corridors that led to room 136, still remembering the way around from yesterday.
I twisted the door handle quietly incase Ashton was asleep and I gently pushed open the door. What I saw made my stomach drop and my heart skip a beat.
Ashton was sitting up in the bed, his head tilted slightly, his eyes shut, and his lips on someone else's. Not mine.
