jeremie settled herself onto the wooden bench and watched as her friends splashed water onto one another.she smiled. it wasn't like she didn't want to get into the pool and do the same. but she didn't have the energy to. last night and the over thinking had drained all the energy from her body. but she was still enjoying. the party was rocking and to her fortune, all her favorite songs played in the background. she walked along the corners of the swimming pool and sat there dipping her legs in the cold water. just then someone tickled them from beneath. she froze for a moment scared, wondering who it was. justin brought his head above the water and smiled at jeremie. she exhaled. "you scared me" she admitted. "sorry." he said. "seriously jeremie, come." he said for the hundredth time that afternoon. she gently shook her head. "go!" she said nudging him. and asked him to enjoy and join the rest of them. "you know what? i cant really hear you. a lot of noise you know. it'd be better if you came down here and talked, that way we can hear each other." he said. "or maybe, you could come up here, join me for a while. that way too, we can converse well." jeremie teased fully satisfied with her answer. justin came and settled beside jeremie and she thought he was going to have a small chat and go back in. instead he smartly asked her if she'd like to walk and as she got up, within seconds he scooped her up in his strong arms and jumped into the pool. jeremie had no idea he would do this. no idea at all. she looked at him with with an expression all blank. she looked like justin the other day when jeremie had splattered ice-cream all over his nose. "sorry" he said innocently and both of them burst out laughing. he smiled. his smile. jeremie started melting again. she seriously loved his smile. It WAS flawless. they swam to where the others were, racing each other. she won! she gave him a thumbs-down and stuck her tongue out at him. he frowned and stuck his bottom lip out like a puppy. he looked so cute, she couldn't help smiling. he smiled back. it was like they were having their own secret party between all this mess. she had a good time. having fun with all of them and finally around 7ish they got out of the pool. everyone decided to have a quick shower and meet up for some snacks.
jeremie and jessie showered quickly and got down. jeremie wore her jeans and a cute long-sleeved, v-necked top which was peachish coloured. the tips of her hair were still wet even after blow drying and she could feel them as they dampened the part of her t-shirt above her waist. she took her wallet which had money and her cell phone and locked the door again. a little after settling themselves on the chairs jeremie began going through the menu. she was hungry. like really hungry,. and so were the others she thought as everyone ordered multiple stuff to fill their stomachs. jeremie had ordered a burger and fries. all made small talk to one another. everyone looked tired. they had almost finished their snack. that's when jeremie spotted a kennel. she spotted a kennel! so people actually lived on this island. oh, hoe she'd love to live here forever.but anyways, jeremie was a total dog lover. she loved every moment she spent with a dog. unfortunately because of her mom and dad being this way she had eventually dropped the idea of buying one for herself. her mom and dad did not have a problem but when she thought of buying a dog, she also thought of the pictures dogs were in. weren't those the happy ones? moms and dad holding their child close as the dog either sat obediently or licked one of the owners. a smile on every face. dogs managed to cheer jeremie up no matter what. but she still thought of the dark, dull house she lived in. not literally the house, which was beautiful but the way her family made it look. dull and dark. a dog could hardly make a difference. she had given up all hope of finding this house bright and white again. because she knew. she knew, to make the house seem so, they people living in it had to be white and bright firstly. but she loved spending time with dogs. everytime she needed distraction she would go to the dog park. dogs made her feel much more relaxed. like she was surrounded with love, love and love. thats how she felt when she was with dogs. the fact that their love was conveyed with wet, sloppy, sometimes smelly kisses didn't bother her. the fact that dogs had the ability to convey, undivided, undisputed, pure and unconditional love meant much more to her. "i'll be back." she said. "jeremie, you haven't even finished your snack. where're you going anyway?" scarlet asked. jeremie awkwardly pointed out the kennel and left the dining table. atlest she gave her friends something to chat about. she ran upto the kennel.
scarlet was busy explaining to the rest of them about how much jeremie loved dogs. "she's not coming back until the kennel closes." scarlet said and all of them looked at jeremie who was talking to, probably the owner of the kennel. she looked so enthusiastic. there was a twinkle in her eye. and everyone just smiled at how weird she was. they continued eating and justin excused himself saying he was going to go join jeremie. everyone smiled again.
"dogs?" justin asked causing jeremie to jump a little. she smiled upon seeing justin and nodded answering him. she kneeled down again and started playing with a labrador puppy who was licking her furiously. justin smiled. she was so different. so, so not like other girls. she did not care about make-up all the time. she did not hide wht she felt but also conveyed it in a gentle way. her eyes, he loved her eyes. they were greenish- brown and looked like they held a thousand secrets. they were so deep he felt like he could see through her. the way she wasn't fake, she wasn't scared to show who she actually was. she did not fake it when she was upset. and he swore he had never seen her fake a smile. it felt so natural being with her-
"justin? hello?" he was interrupted by jeremie who was waving her hand in front of him. embarrassed, he looked away, hoping she had not seen him staring.
"yea, what?" he asked.
"i asked you, you'tre here? how?" she asked and her smile followed.
"yea, i finished snacking, thought i'd join you." he said.
she nodded. "join me." she said patting the empty space next to her and signalled him to play with the puppy too. "if you don't mind that is." she added quickly realizing just because he was here didn't mean he liked dogs too. he kneeled down beside jeremie and affectionately scratched the puppy's neck. the puppy quickly jumped into justin's lap and started licking his ear. jeremie smiled. she clicked another picture of justin this time with a dog instead of the turtle. this one was totally cute she immediately set it as her screen saver. she didn't know why. justin handed the puppy over to jeremie and took out his cell phone as it buzzed. it was matt. "justin, jeremie, ya'll coming for some drinks?" matt asked. justin knew jeremie did not drink and he wasn't in a mood to so he quickly added a no and disconnected the phone. he saw jeremie was still busy playing with the doggy and he clicked a picture of her. her nose almost touched the puppy's nose and her hair were tucked behing her ear revealing her black stud earring. her smile was so beautiful. so natural. her eyes had a twinkle in them as if she was enjoying this moment to the fullest. she looked so happy he almost envied her. without thinking, he saved the picture as his screen saver. he didn't know why...
