jeremie was getting ready for dinner, which she didn't wanna honestly, she had worn a normal jean and a cute t-shirt which led to another fight between her and her mom, so here she was, shanging for the second time. she wore a cream one-piece with pearl border, it was for weddings and such occasions but for her mom. the my-boss-is-coming-over-for-dinner wasn't any less than a wedding. jeremie set her hair in a loose ponytail and let her flicks tingle down. the doorbell rang and jeremie felt like locking herself in her room forever and ever. she could hear those 'come in, come in' chats already. but then the only thing she was happy about was that her parents would not fight for a while. they were really good at faking it, both of them. it was easy to forget that they hated each other. for once they behaved normal. jeremie went down the stairs and stood near the staircase awkwardly. she looked at the hugeness of their family. it was just the three of them. her moms boss, his wife, and ofcourse jaden their son, but all of them were so huge and moreover jeremie was so sleepy she thought for a second she saw an army of elephants. she smiled at jaden who was trying hard to grasp her attention by spitting in her direction. she wiped the drops of saliva off her cheek and made her way towards the group.

"here she is. jeremie, you remember mr & mrs sparks don't you?" her mom said, she was smiling so wide jeremie thought her face would burst.

"i do. hello sir, ma'm" jeremie replied politely. she looked at her dad who was standing there like a statue not moving an inch. just his lips curving into a small smile everytime someone said something.

"jeremie." jaden said in his heavy accent. she looked at him and smiled. "hey jaden." she said hoping she could dig a hole and bury herself into it.

"so, how are you?" he said and an army of drops headed in jeremie's direction she could see the drops travelling her way. she quickly dropped er napkin and bent down to pick it up. phew! saved. she got up. "oops. i'm fine by the way. what about you?" she asked. "i'm good too." he said. jeremie's phone buzzed. "excuse me." she said to jaden and made her way towards the balcony to see who it was. her screen flashed with 'justin calling' and she felt her tummy make a flip again. why was this happening?

"hello." she said, trying to hide the excitement. she thought she'd never get so close to him again. in fact she thought to see him again matt would have to arrange another trip like this but he called. justin called-

"jeremie." came his voice from the other end, breaking into her thoughts.

"hey justin." she said, with a smile on her lips.

"how're you?" he asked, she could picture him smiling on the other end too.

"i'm good. just reached a while ago. what about you?" she asked.

"i was just bored. i thought of calling you." he said.

"oh.." she replied.

"are you out or something? i mean there's a lot of noise." he said.

"umm...not out just some guests over for dinner." she said.

"i called at the wrong time? i'm sorry." he apologized.

this was exactly what she was dreading. she knew him now. she knew he would apologize and ask her to talk later. y was he so nice? she thought. but now even her mom was giving her looks.

"no its alright. just gimme a while i'll call you." she said.

"sure." he replied.

"bye, justin." she said

'bye jeremie." he said.

throughout the dinner she was thinking about justin. why had he called her when he was bored? its not like he did no have enough friends to talk to. had he gotten used to jeremie like she had gotten used to him? she hoped. she ate her dinner silently.
