"mom?"

no reply. jeremie entered her house and called out for her mom. she shook her head. why did she think coming back home after 3 days would make a difference? her mom never replied to  any of her calls or shouts so why would she now. jeremie climbed up her stairs and opened the door to her room. it looked just like it had when she left.  blanket was still in a mess, in fact the whole room was. she looked around searching for a clean place to sit. she walked to her balcony and left her bag on the bed. on her to-do list was:

1) clean the room                                                                                                                                                           2) check whether mom was home                                                                                                                             3) study. (Like seriously!)

she started with the first thing that was clean her room. while doing so, a lot of things were running around in her mind. (whats new?) she was thinking about the trip, about her being upset about the smile on her face whenever justin tried to cheer her up, the butterflies in her tummy whenever they touched, the intense look he gave her sometimes and then her wondering about what it meant. his flawless face, the way he teased her and apologized later. his getting mad at steve, which was almost cute. she took her cellphone out and smiled at the picture of justin with the cute puppy in the kennel. the pic was if you remember currently her screensaver. she totally started blushing about keeping it as the screensaver. how stupid was that? she changed it to some other picture and hit herself  gently for being so stupid, justin was just a crush. just a crush...right?

"jeremie" she turned around to see her mom standing at the doorway with a very pissed-off expression on her face.

"hi...mum." jeremie said raising an awkward hand.

"god almighty! what do you do in this room jeremie? like what is this mess?" asked mom.

"i'm cleaning it mom." jeremie said calmly.

"i want it done i the next twenty minutes jeremie please. jaden's family i coming over for dinner. they'll be here in a while."

"mom." jeremie said through gritted teeth. "i"m. doing. it! and it would be very thoughtful of you to ask me how my trip went instead of asking me to clean my room considering i've just returned from a very tiring trip." jeremie said, her expression clearly showed how much she hated her mom's behaviour.

"jeremie, don't fidget with me about this okay. i'm your mother!"

"and i'm your daughter, not a maid mom!" jeremie said

"enough jeremie. i'm heading downstairs. just quietly do what i told you to, will you?" her mom said and walked down the stairs.

jeremie quietly cussed the situation and carried on with her work. her mom was a very successful women, who worked for her family. that was really great of her no doubt. but what about spending time with jeremie. getting to know a little about her own daughter. she acted as if she wasn't bothered about jeremie and jeremie was pretty sure she wasn't. she felt neglected. she felt hurt whenever he mom turned her down like that. there was alot to say. a lot to, but there was no use right? all jeremie wanted to say was that she missed her mom and dad. she missed 'them' as parents. ever since the fight they had literally accepted the rude way they were with each other whereas individually they were really sweet people. it was like the rude, rough character which was very evident had become a part of their life without them knowing. they had allowed i to takeover their soft, kind side which jeremie missed  the most.

and it wasn't like jeremie's life wasn't already tangled. she had her issue's too. and the one she was going to face tonight was jaden. jaden was jeremie's mom's boss's son. yes that. he had practically known jeremie since kindergarten. they had been together until the 10th grade and them they went to different colleges to jeremie's fortune. jaden had been crushing in jeremie ever since. like seriously, he wasn't ready to give up. at all. the way he looked, (u don't wanna know!) he was tall, dark and handsome. no wait, the words jumbled up. he was tall and handsome when it's dark. yea! had humongous spectacles which bounced along with his humongous body. with every word a spray of spit would exit his moth and splatter onto the other person's face. jeremie had thought he would change...eventually. you know, teenage does it to people right? everyone wants to get cooler. but he wasn't one of them. he thought he was more than cool just the way he was. that's a nice thing, accepting yourself the way you are that is. but then lying to yourself isn't the right thing as well.
