Chapter 6- "That's sociopath, not psychopath! Know the difference!"
"What are you doing here?!" We yelled at each other simultaneously. I held my banana foolishly as it dripped with sugary saliva.
"Hello!" He said exasperated. "I live here." As if it was obvious.
"You live here?" I repeated my mouth dropping open. "With Alex and Helen?"
"Yeah." He said lightly.
He was engaged to Helen?!
"How old are you?" I asked shocked, my voice low and hushed.
"18. Why?"
"But you're still in college!" I protested.
"What's that got to do with anything?" He asked, genuinely confused.
"It's just- Well-You're 18!" I said, mind-blown.
"Yeah and you're half-naked." He stated casually.
"Wha- OH." I looked down to see my bare legs, illuminated by the moonlight. I blushed crimson.
He noticed my red cheeks and smirked knowingly. "Gonna eat that banana?" He nodded towards it, eyeing me knowingly.
I blushed a deeper red, shoving the half eaten banana in the small bowl. It drooped pathetically. Suddenly, I remembered Alex' embarrassing tee. How-
"Ironic." He said, eyeing me up slowly. Huh. That was exactly what I was thinking.
"Do you love Helen?" I asked abruptly, bringing his attention back to my face.
"What?" He asked, surprised by my question.
"Do you love Helen?" I repeated, my face deadly serious but still slightly pink.
"Err- She's alright. Tries a bit too hard but she makes a good sandwich. She's not the first but we'll see with time I guess, but I still don't know what-"
He stopped when he saw my face morphed from shock to furious anger.
"You bastard." I whispered, horrified. "YOU LOWLIFE WORTHLESS DISGUSTING BASTARD!" I screamed at the top of my lungs. "Helen is an amazing woman and you don't deserve her. I'll be damned if I see this wedding ever happen. Just you watch. You and your stupid mutt can leave and live on the street. I will not let you marry Helen. And neither will Alex. He was right. This is disgusting. You're disgusting. You- you -you-" But I had no words. This pathetic pig didn't even care for Helen and yet he was promising to love and cherish her for the rest of her life. I felt tears well up in anger and without a second thought I smacked him right across the face. Hard.
"WHAT THE FUCK?!" He shouted in pain, cradling his cheek.
"You deserve it, you PIG!" I yelled. I was about to slap him again when he yelled-
"What the fuck is wrong with you?! I'm not fucking getting married! That's so-so- urrgh! My Dad's getting married to her. And we don't even have a fucking dog! FUCK THIS HURTS!"
Realisation dawned on me, making me instinctively slap my hand against my mouth in shock.
"Oops."
"Seriously!" He yelled, though a little quieter this time.
"I'm sorry." I squeaked, almost inaudible.
"Why did you have to slap me?!" He cried, still clutching his face.
"I'm so sorry." I whispered sincerely. "Really."
