We were all escorted back to the dormitory. Erica threw herself face down on her bed as the rest of us sat down normally.
"Erica, is something wrong?" Aeron asked.
She didn't bother to look up. "I just have to spend another week in the same room as you."
Aeron sighed. "Sorry I asked."
"I wish we could go home. This place feels like a prison," Zachariah said, surprising all of us.
"Cheer up, Zachariah. I'm pretty sure there's something fun to do around here," Grace said.
"Like what?" I asked, curious.

"Well, Zachariah and I could go to the library together. And if he doesn't like reading, he can use the computer they have there," Grace said, shyness coating her expression.
I noticed the idle, coy smile that formed on her face.
Zachariah's face was flushed. "It's all right, I like reading."
Erica jumped up, a bright smile on her face. "Maddison and I will go too."
I giggled. "Great minds think alike."
Erica grinned deviously. "Indeed."
I stood up to give her a high-five.
Aeron stood up as well. "Well, I'm not staying here alone. I'm going too."

So we walked to the library on the top floor of the building. Grace and Zachariah walked hand in hand toward the fiction section. Aeron sat at the computer within seconds. Erica yanked me behind a bookshelf where we basically stalked Grace and Zachariah, admiring their innocence and fantasizing on their behalf.

"How would their kids look?" Erica asked, ogling the two who were reading and discussing.
"Adorable!" I enthused. "I hope they invite us to their wedding."
Erica laughed. "They won't have to, I'll be there either way."
"Okay we're being creepy." I chuckled.
"Yeah." She giggled.
Then Erica turned to me. Our identical eyes met intensely, and I knew their was something serious she wanted to say.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Can I really trust you enough to tell you everything?" she said.
"I'm pretty sure you can." I smiled.
"I hope so, because the last person I trusted only made things worse," she said, finally breaking our stare. "Come."
