Night

Chapter: 4

Third person POV:

Alec and Raven had been walking for what seemed like hours, no closer to finding the Ark. It seemed as if they never would, until they saw smoke rising above the trees. "Do you thinks that's the Ark?" Alec asked Raven, "Let's hope so." Raven replied looking at the smoke with hopeful eyes.

They started walking in the direction of the smoke, hoping to find the Ark. As they move through the trees, walking over tree trunks, and fallen trees. They never said a thing, the silence was so thick you could cut through it with a blade. They were both lost in thought, hope was a dangerous thing, it could save you but it could also kill you. The wind was icey as it blow from the mountain top. Winter was on it's way, Raven pulled her jacket tighter around herself. Alec had his furr coat tight around himself, it was starting to get dark, it looked as if it wanted to rain, the clouds a dark gray. The sun bearly shinning through. 

"Let's camp here for the night, we can start walking again in the morning." Alec told Raven as he was finding wood to build a fire, "I'll help find some berries to eat." Raven told Alec as she started searching for some berries they could eat.

Alec's prov:

It was dark, I had built a fire, the flames keeping us warm. Raven had managed to find some berries so we were munching on them. My mind started to wonder as I looked into the flames of the fire.

Flashback.

"Alecbenton jaster kom trikru." I heard my mother shout from outside my hut, either I was in trouble or something has happened.

I walked outside my hut to find my mother in tears, I caught her just as she fall to the ground on her knees. I knew what she was going to say, I just didn't want to hear it. "It's your father, he has died." My mother choked out as she sobbed into my chest.

I was never close with my father, but he did teach me to fight. I hugged my mother rocking us back and forth humming the song she always hummed to me. I was trying to be strong, trying not to cry. I let slip a few tears.

End of flashback.

That day was one I would not want to relive, I looked over at Raven she was already asleep. So I closed my eyes, hoping that tomorrow we would find the Ark. To find Raven's people, and with that thought I fall into the darkness.

When I woke, I had my hands around Raven's waist hugging her to my chest. I slightly smiled, we didn't fall asleep like this. I must of done it in  my sleep, I looked at the sky it was still a gray colour, the fire was out. There was a chilly wind blowing, the morning air crispy, I gently shook Raven awake. "Raven, we should start walking." I whispered in her ear, "Five more minutes." Raven mumbled and turned the other way. I laughed under my breath, and stood up.

It had been more then five minutes, "Raven, come on." I said well turning to look at her, she was already up with a smirk on her face. "You were saying?" She said well rolling her eyes
"Someone doesn't appreciate sleep very much." Raven muttered as she walked passed me.

I laughed under my breath, this girl got more mysterious by the minute. I walked in front of her, looking around. We weren't far from were we saw the smoke, so I was on high alert.
