Like I said Ruth makes me laugh, so it isn't as depressing as some of the others have been. Enjoy!

Do I really need to say who I am? Well, I'll say that after I died as Solomon I became Ruth. Yes, a girl. Hey, I'm starting to notice that my most important names have been books of the Bible. Neat, huh?

Anyway, I became part of my descendants' family, my best friend being Anetka's great granddaughter, Daisy. Mostly because my own parents were dead.

Speaking of Anetka, she was still alive until I was three; she had lived for a long time.

The day before she died, I came to visit her. She opened her eyes and smiled at me. "Hello Solomon." She said in English.

I laughed. "You really are old, aren't you lady? Your mind is failing you. My name is Ruth."

She shook her head. "I'm not that old yet Solomon; I was awake the night of my wedding, when Vladimir carried me home and you told him your secret."

Well, oops. Anetka saw my docked face and smiled. She reached for my hand, and I gave it to her. "Solomon, thank you for taking care of me every day. I hope you would do the same for Daisy; I don't want her to experience what I did. And..." She started to cry. "Thank you for saving me that day. I got to grow in love with America, and I'm glad I got to see my children and grandchildren grow up. Thank you."

I laughed. "And you get to see Vladimir before I do."

She sighed. "I miss him so much. The wait will be worth it."

I stayed like that for a while.

Now, it's 1875. Because of whatever reason, Daisy's family wanted to move to California. And since I had no place to go, I did too.

And what was I doing now? Well, I was leaning out the train window feeling the air on face.

"Ruth! It's dangerous!"

I grinned at Daisy, but came fully back into the train and closed the window. "Aww, Daisy! You know I like danger!"

She looked at my dangly clothing that was a skirt and a shirt. "Are you not wearing your corset again?"

"Nope! I like my freedom too."

She finally looked at the gun on my right leg. She made a cross on her chest. "Please, Ruth; say that you won't kill anyone!"

I sighed and pressed my forehead against hers. "Of course not; the Lord says to not murder. It is to only keep those dastardly evil men away, since there aren't many women in California and your father says that men like to hurt women. Besides, if a man does touch either one of us I will shoot him, but in a way so that he won't die."

"Do you promise?" She looked at me south Anetka's eyes.

I smiled. "I promise."

When we finally arrived, I hopped off the train and grabbed Daisy with me so that we could explore the train. It was hot, so she kept her parasol up at all times. But as much as she kept her parasol up, I kept my hand on my gun.  It was a little something I always did whenever I knew I was heading into danger.

I pulled Daisy into a saloon, just to see what it was like. Daisy was frightened, but I squeezed her hand to reassure her.

There were a bunch of men inside. We walked around there a bit, noticing the faded wood and the way everyone was staring at us.
