Riel’s Secrets

When Audreana woke, she saw that she was laying in one of the familiar beds in the Healer’s Wing. A place she had come to know almost as well as her own room. She had been in one of those beds a lot, Dwellers and guards had always been the most common visitors to the healers, because they were always doing something dangerous. If you asked a Healer, they were also, the most difficult penitence, always ready to get back out there, fighters all the way, as they say.

“Took you long enough,” said a familiar voice.

Audreana’s eyes met with one of the healer’s maids. She looked down at the young Dweller with a frown, “ I thought you’d never wake,” she said. She walked over to her and felt her head.

Yawning Audreana managed to ask, “How long have I been asleep?”

“Three days,” said the maid in a surprised tone. “They managed to sow up the wound and it is healing nicely. They wanted to keep you in bed for a while though,” the maid paused, as she checked her wound. “Someone stopped by while you were unconscious. They wanted me to give this to you.”

The maid handed Audreana the journal that she had gotten from the Dead Forest, “Who gave you this?” Audreana asked, she was wondering who else had known about the journal except for her.

“Some man. He didn’t say his name,” the maid said shrugging, and she left Audreana to be alone.

She sighed, as she held the book, wondering silently who had known that she had it. For a moment she laid there holding it, looking at it. She smiled, knowing her job was done, as much as she hated being bed ridden, she figured, it was for the best. So, she opened the book and thought of how much time she had. Reading would pass the time nicely, so, began to read:

My name is Riel and it is the year 53. My father is Ace the first master of the Black Forest. The queen of my father’s kin is Gesine and her husband Alvar. My mother’s kin’s king is Damek and his wife Keren. The war has started and Samuel fights hard. No one knows how the war really started, but I do.

Samuel’s people left him abandoned and half beaten. He wondered Tegan for some great and willing person to help him. Every place he went, they refused him, because then peoplefended for himself or herself, not willing to help others. Samuel ended up next to Elixir Wood, not yet making it to his goal Elixir. The wounds he bore were small enough for him to travel thus far, but he did not have anything to clean them with. Illness caught him and he became so ill, that he could not go any farther.

There the Wood’s people took him to their Queen, Gesine. The elf queen was kind as was Alvar, but Alvar took a liking for Samuel, because the King was fascinated by humans. At the wood, Samuel captured the heart of the elf Princess Tessa. The two spent many days together talking of the elf ways. Samuel was interested to hear of her culture. After many years, Alvar became ill, he spoke to Samuel right before he died; asking him to watch over Tessa. He did for a while picking out all the information about her and her people as she could hoping that something could bring his people back to him. He was power crazy and seeing the elves’ world he wanted to make it his. He wanted to be the ruler of all Tegan.

Well, Tessa feel deeper in love with him and she told him of the door that lead to a room full of powerful and deadly objects, they called the room, Onan. She told him that only the most powerful elves could open it. There was something else, she told him, the stone of Calvin.

There had once been an elf that had great power, but he used it for evil. He used it to enslave the land of Tegan. One man, however, managed to trap his soul inside a stone. The stone was hidden under ground where no one dared to go any longer. There he would stay safe until the day came when they had knowledge on how to kill him.
