I stood in the mirror applying red lipstick on my lips, Lexi was on the other side of the aisle using the mascara. She walked over and stood beside me, I glared at her reflection in the mirror.
"Expensive." She grinned, as she placed the mascara in my eye view in the mirror I was using. "Yeah, but you should get it if you really want it." She turned away and placed the mascara on the shelf behind us. "True, but I barely have any money..."I placed the cap back on the lipstick. "Same here." I sighed as I examined the lipstick on my lips. Out of the corner of my eye I can see her reflection staring at me, I stopped focusing on the lipstick on my lips.
I looked at her reflection, wondering why she was staring at me. I guess she realized she was staring when her eyes glared away then back at me. "I'm pretty sure Sam wouldn't mind giving you some cash, he always use to when I asked."I pressed my lips together, as I ran my fingers through my hair. "No, it's fine." I brushed it off as if it wasn't a big deal, knowing that her and him use to date makes me a little upset.
"Are you sure? I'm pretty sure he wouldn't mind it, he use to love giving me money all the time. You know, so I could buy whatever I want." I nod slowly, as I begin to fix my hair in the mirror. I didn't feel comfortable asking him for money, since Sam isn't my boyfriend."Is that all that he ever did for you?" I pretended to run my fingers through large sections of my hair, as if I was planning on styling it differently. I was trying to do anything and everything to avoid her eye contact.
Lexi slid her hands into her jacket pockets, "Yeah because he liked me." I didn't even look at her, I couldn't. "Did you like him?" I asked, feeling as if she was probably only using him."Of course I liked Sam, he was my boyfriend." She laughed, a little as her eyes wandered the aisle. I pretended to examine my face for whatever reason, before I turned to face her. "You don't look surprised."
I took a deep breathe, "Sam told me about you and him... its really none of my business." She nodded quickly, for what I assumed was that she figured he would tell me about their relationship sooner or later. She studied me for a few seconds before she asked, "Do you like him?" I laughed in response, as I turned away from her. "Why would you think that?!" I looked through the rows of lipsticks. Lexi stood beside me, doing the same. "Oh come on, you make it soooo obvious."
This was the first time I was hearing this, "How so?" She rolled her eyes, "Your own personality changed when you entered the room and saw him.""Are you calling me fake?"
Lexi laughed a little as her eyes flickered over at me, "No... I just think he has some kind of effect (effect... affect... whatever) on you. Don't worry that happens to every girl that gets involved with him. But whatever you do, don't date him... it's a waste of time. He'll only end up hurting you, don't take it personally it's just his speciality."
I turned to face her, "He's not going to hurt me, don't you think you're being a incy wincy bit dramatic?" I crossed my arms over my chest and tilted my head just a little bit.
She lowered her head as her eyes gave me a blank stare, "Sam is a total fuckboy, okay. Whatever he tells you is complete bullshit because he wants you to feel sorry for him so that he can sleep with you."I frowned, "He hasn't tried to sleep me yet." I lied, she rolled her eyes again. "My boyfriend and I heard when Sam asked you to have sex with him, so it looks like I'm right."
She walked off down the aisle but I stopped her, "Why do you care if I did it with him or not?" I nearly ran into her, not knowing that she was going to stop walking so abruptly. "I don't care about him but I care about you." I part my lips, as I stated at her. Was she serious?
