Her house was different than I expected, but I was certain this was where she was at. I stared out the window at the house, wondering if I was making the right decision in coming here.
Swazz rest his forearm against the back of my seat, "Well, it was nice knowing you." I slowly turned to face his amused expression. "I think I'll be fine." I opened the passenger's door, stepping out into the dark night.I closed the car door, my eyes locked on the house as if it was haunted. I tired to think about what I was going to say during our ride here, but now I forgot everything.
How was in suppose to reason with a girl who cheated on her boyfriend? If she's anything like I think she is, she will not want to hear anything I have to say. What if she tries to hurt me? I had no idea what this girl was capable of and if this would be worth it. Swazz cleared his throat, "Don't bring up the cheating issue, she might turn into Satan. Try to convince her that Gilinsky is at fault, even though he isn't. She's dumb so she'll believe it."I closed my eyes, my back towards him and my body positioned in front of walkway. "Noted." I gulped, feeling the hair on the back of my neck stand. It'll be easy, I repeat do myself over and over.
Once I reached the front door, I felt my legs knocking against one another. All these thoughts were causing me to overthink more and more. I was asking myself, why even bother? She cheated and doesn't deserve him, this is worthless! It didn't matter that I didn't like Gilinsky romantically, he was a good friend and seeing or imaging him with some girl like his ex makes me pity him.
I inched closer to the door bell, trying my best to do what I came here to do. The woman that opened the front door was gorgeous, she wore a pretty smile that I had never seen before and suddenly it clicked. "Hi, I don't mean to be a disturbance but I'm Johanna and I'm a friend of your boyfriend Jack. Is it okay if I talk to you?"The second I mentioned his name her whole looked changed, her eyes were filled with anger and she clenched her teeth so hard I'm certain I heard them. For a second I thought she was going to stare at me angrily for a couple more seconds and then slam the door in my face, but she didn't.
Instead she stepped back, "Sure." She motioned her arm in a welcoming manner. I looked beyond her figure and at the small amount of interior I could, debating if I should turn back and run.I was greeted by a small and fluffy dog, it stood a few feet from the door just staring at me. Most dogs I knew would run to the door barking and ready to bite my ankles, but this dog was trained.
Gilinsky's girlfriend closed the door and lead the way to an area she felt comfortable with. Her home was apartment goals, it was cliche and organized. She even had little lights decorated along the counter in her kitchen, where we sat facing each other in chairs."Did he make you come here?" Something about her whole demeanor changed, which was shocking but not strange. Her angry features were gone and all was present was sadness or concern, hell maybe even both.
I smiled, "No."
She didn't frown but swallowed the nervousness in her throat, wondering what I meant. I had to be honest, "He probably didn't have the guts to come here and try to work things out."
She nods, "Makes sense." My eyes lowered, I didn't know what to say. "What makes sense?" I frowned, not understanding why she seemed calm thy he didn't want to get back with her."I cheated on him... it only makes sense to stay away from people you can't trust if you don't want to get hurt again." I caught the firmness in her voice. I straightened my back, "But he's miserable without you, he's been in his room for days and days. Why would he cry over a girl who cheated on him if he still didn't love her?"
She stared at me like a teacher trying to find the right words to tell their third grade student. "I think he's sad that he can't have me rather than not having me because he loves me."
