We didn't go back to the hotel right away, it was going on 5 and Sam didn't want to tell me where we were going. Nate was in the back seat asleep, so when Sam parked the car in the driveway we left him in the car.
Sam left the windows down for him, then headed to the front door of the house. As I walked towards the door the only thing I could focus on was the size of the house, it was ridiculously large. He didn't even ring the door bell like most people would, instead he walked right in. The whole house was bright with neon lights, when it entered the place was neon green.
There were a few people talking in the living room when we entered, they looked over at us but they mostly paid attention to Sam. They began talking to him but I took the chance to acknowledge the colors.
My eyes wandered around the large living room, as the room began to change color I looked back at Sam and he was blue. His clothes were blue, even his dark brunette hair was blue. I couldn't lie, he looked good in the neon blue.
I looked down at my clothing, expecting the same bright neon blue but mine were red. I looked up towards the red beam of light on the ceiling, I didn't know why I was so fascinated with the colors but I was.
"Where's Jack?"
A girl picked up blunts she was staking up on a tray, she lite one and handed to Sam. "He's in his room, he hasn't left it for like three days."
Sam looked over at me and saw me staring into the red lights, "Jo." I didn't hear him, so he grabbed my hand. "You shouldn't stare into the lights." He advices, for some reason the first place my eyes wandered to were his hand on mine.
Sam smiled at me, "You can enjoy the lights some other time." I didn't smile back, I didn't know what was wrong but I felt so out of place. He walked away and I slowly followed behind him.
I tried not to walk directly behind him because the smoke kept blowing in my face. We walked up a long staircase, Sam was purposely swinging the bag from the store as if trying to hit me intentionally.
I blinked a few times, trying to stop daydreaming. I held onto the spiral banister of the staircase, I noticed something shining and when I looked over to my left and there was a chandelier. Due to the lights, the chandelier looked blue, just like everything else.I decided to break the silence, "Who the hell lives here, twenty people?" A few people walked past us, I looked over my shoulder and watched them walk down the hallway.
"Friends, I guess you can say."
Sam walked to the end of the hallway and opened the door, there was a dark haired guy laying on his bed with his hands resting on his bare chest.
"Alright, get up," Sam shoved his blunt towards me. "hold this." I slowly grabbed it and looked down at it, seriously?"Close the door, will ya?" The dark haired guy groaned, as Sam walked over to his curtains and pulled them back. The guy I assumed was Jack didn't seem aware at all, not to mention his room was completely trashed.
His whole room was neon blue like what assumed the rest of the house was, I didn't understand how the colors didn't hurt their eyes.Sammy pulled what I assumed were dark red covers, that Jack was laying on, "Come on, get up it's almost 5, you can't sleep your life away." He advices, Jack sits up.
He rubs his eyes for a second, then he states directly at me. "Who the hell is this?!" Sam looked at me as if he needed to see my face in order to remember my name.
"That's Johanna."
Jack groaned, as he tossed his head back. I frowned because I didn't understand why Jack was being such a jackass. "I told you I didn't want any more girls coming in here, why don't you listen?"
"It's Sammy you're talking about here." I joke awkwardly, it didn't take a person very long to learn that Sam was trouble.
Sam tossed the bag of DVD's at Jack, "She's with me." He sighs, as he looks at me. "What girls were you bringing in here?" I question.
Sam chuckles, "You know... girls..." He didn't answer my question, I figured he would never answer no matter how many times I asked.
Jack exchanges looks with Sam and me, then he pulled the DVDs out of the bag. Sammy takes his blunt from me and sets it down on the ash tray.
Jack sighs,"You know, I use to have a girlfriend but all I got is hoes." Sammy frowned, "You say that like its a bad thing?" He laughs, I shook my head but Sam didn't see me.
"Awe, poor Jack," I walked over to his bed and sat down beside him. "what happened?" I murmured sadly. Jack looked over at Sam, "Thanks for asking," He looks at me, and I could Sam scoff. "my girlfriend cheated on me."
I frowned, "Why would a girl cheat on a guy like you?" Sam tossed his hands in the air, "Because she's a dumb cheating bitch, no offense." He smiles, as he messes with the things on Jack's dresser."Don't talk about her like that."
I looked at Sam, "Yeah, don't talk about a girl like that, it's rude." Jack lowered his eyes, as Sam stared at me. I figured the only reason Sam was upset with me was because I was embarrassing him in front of his friend.
Jack looked over at his friend who had the most unpleasant look on his face. Sam clinched his jaw, I just stared back at him because I felt as if he was trying to intimidate me.Sam tilts his head at me, "Who are you to tell me who I can and can't call a dumb cheating bitch? I know one when I see one, they don't care about your feelings. They use you and then leave you like you never mattered, so don't tell me what I said was rude."
I stood up from the bed to apologize but Sam just brushed past me, nearly knocking me over. I followed him out of room and down the hallway but he turned around, scaring me.
He grabbed my shoulders and squeezed his nails into my shoulders, "What are you doing?"Sam shook his head aggressively, "No... I don't want you." I frowned, "You don't want me? I'm not an object, Sam. You're taking me with you." I was panicking, he couldn't just leave me here.
He released my shoulders, "If I were you, I'd stay away from me." He warns, I gulped.
