The bright, yellow/black, typical New York City taxi drives us through the strangest places. We pass ancient looking buildings and bumpy roads which cause us to practically jump up and down on our seats. Thank you, inventor of seatbelts, I never appreciated them until now. The driver says it's so we don't get stuck in traffic, and he has a point, New York city's main roads are well busy, that's for sure. I guess you get something, for something. In this case, we get no traffic, but a headache from all this jumping. I'll get to see more of the modern looking places soon, so I decide to enjoy the old for now, which I have to admit, look quite interesting. I gaze out the window, my intention is to admire the picturesque surroundings, but my thoughts drift back to last afternoon's incident with Alex.

"Oh sorry," he mumbles and pushes away a tiny bit-.
"No it's ok" I force a small laugh, hoping it comes out natural but it comes out more fake than someone's butt after plastic surgery.
"Right well, whatcha wanna do?"
"Ummm well, this is your house sooooo you choose" I state and he leans back a little on the couch.
"20 questions?" he raises an eyebrow questioningly - "Sorry, I'm not the creative type when it comes to entertainment".
"Ah it's alright, me neither" I nod, "So, um, favourite colour?" I ask the standard, simple question everyone begins with usually.
"Black" he replies and I think that I may have already noticed...considering he wears mostly black- "Yours?"
"Lilac and Emerald"
"Oh man, why are girls always so specific when it comes to colours? Literally, even my mother, instead of simply saying, "red" she says "Amaranth", he shakes his head in nonchalance and I laugh, this time for real.
"It's just the way it is I guess, but you can't be stereotyping! My bestfriend's brother is into painting and all that artsy stuff so he knows colours better than any girl I know.
"I guess so then"
"Right so, my turn, dream place to live?" I ask this, thinking that I'm in mine already."
"I don't really know, I like it here, but Los Angeles sounds phenomenal, to be honest, I might go there for holidays some day"
"Aha"
"So, like anyone?" he winks at me.
"Of course I do!" I squeak- " Shawn Mendes and I are getting married soon! First I have to let him know that we are engaged though" I smile and Alex chuckles.
"Fangirl?" he raises his eyebrow again, and I wonder why guys have better eyebrows than me and they don't even have to put much effort into them.
"Nah, not really, but he's my favourite male singer. My favourite female singer would be Alessia Cara"
"Ah I've heard of her, I might listen soon"
"Ok so, YOU like anyone?" and I stare at him a little too long - "As in like, like, and not any singers or actors!" I say laughing, just to make things clear.
"Well, I thought I liked my girlfriend..." he starts slowly- "But I guess were over, because of a stupid incident and I think her vibrant makeup blinded me so I couldn't see her personality" he adds and that statement makes me crack up - "But there's someone with a bubbly, quirky personality and I might like her, maybe just a bit, considering we just met but..." stops and gives me a shy smile.
"Oh nice, well, your turn now then" I wonder who he had in mind.
I then feel a strand of my hair being pulled back behind my ear.
This is the most uncomfortable thing that happened to me...since...forever? I think to myself.
Thankfully the doorbell rings and we hear voices outside.
Rosie, and Alex's mom.
They enter the room all soaked from the pouring rain.
"It started lashing, the funfair was closed" Rosie releases a heartbroken sigh.

"Hey we're here!" Rosie squeaks lively.
We step out of the taxi and get greeted by the warm, Nyc sun. I look around, noticing that the buildings are different now. More modern, and of course, giant. Everything here looks enormous, and I feel like a small little dot in the middle of this city.
"I know a marvellous place that we could go and eat in...Just around the corner! You'll love it" Alex points out as my sister's stomach growls loudly.
"Yes!Let's gooooooo" my sister agrees and lighten's up.
I nod, deciding that my stomach also would fancy something hot thrown into it, but an anxious expression creeps onto my face as I realise it could be expensive.
It must me, this isn't wonderland, life costs.
Alex must be a mind reader because he whispers;
"Don't worry, it's not too dear, and anyway, I'll pay"
I shake my head, letting him know I will but he does the same and smirks.
"No way, I'm paying, that's it" he declares, grinning.
Next thing I know he grabs my hand, and I take Rosie's and we head into the busy city streets.
As we approach the brand new, sweet-smelling cafe, which aroma rises in the air outside, attracting hungry (or may I say hangry like us right now) customers passing by.
I abruptly stop in the middle of the path, halting Alex mid-step. Is this who I think it is? Can it be? What is she doing here? The woman turns around on her heel, staring, with her vicious green eyes at us.
"Run!" I shriek, pulling both of my companions behind me as I sprint through the crowds.
