-Chloe-

"Sabrina" Alex half whispered in an urgent, panicky tone. I instinctively shot my head in the opposite direction, noticing the elegantly dressed, middle-aged woman. She immediately acts as if she's genuinely interested in a poster advertising a circus, hung to a tree. How obvious.

Sometimes I feel like I have an inserted chip in my body that allows my "mother" to finding me in such an easy way. We're literally in the middle of a massive park, yet she's here, coming towards us.

"Do you think she saw us?" I manage to blurt out, turning my attention back to Alex in horror.

"Yes, I can see her eyeing us suspiciously. She most likely still thinks I'm working for her so she just follows us around to get all the information she wants. We have to flee as fast as possible Chloe. You, Rosie and I. It's not safe to just be wandering around New York, Sabrina will realise I'm in no way helping her ever again and she'll use her chance."

"Lets go home. We should run." without further hesitation, we break off into a sprint in the opposite direction, not even glancing back once to the woman staring behind us, ready to follow us once again.

When we finally reach Alex's home, we're panting and puffing our lungs out. She can run fast, we didn't want to take the risk of slowing down. We might pass out, but on the bright side, that's my exercise done for the day, right? We fling the door open, bustling in, and hurry in anxiousness. To our surprise, the house seems empty. Great. Now Rosie and Alex's mom have gone out, which leaves more time to worry and overthink. We need to escape Sabrina's grasp right now. I tend to think of the worst possible case scenarios while my mind is not busy focusing on something.  I mean, she could have a gun with her or something. There'd be no way we could disobey her then.

Before I continue thinking of what could happen I receive a text.

Megan.

SHOOT. I FORGOT TO TEXT HER.

Megan: Hi Chloe. You haven't texted me since a few days. I didn't want to sound pushy and rush you but you know I'm impatient. Any news? Where are you staying?x

I quickly text her back with a simple reply. There's way too much to explain over text, I have to call her but now is obviously not the time.

Me: Oh my, there's a ton of news. Currently we're at a new friend's house but we have to leave, again. I'll update you when we get there. Love you. Bye x

I slip my phone back into my pocket as Alex and I take a seat, while waiting for Rosie and his mom. I hear a buzzing sound, and my electronic device vibrates in my jeans once again.

Megan:Good or bad news?

I smile to myself as I picture Megan coming up with different types of scenarios. Just like I would, but hers would be way more up above the clouds, and out of this world. In other words- un-realistic.

Me: Both.

My phone goes back where it was before and before we know it, a bouncy, excited little Rosie comes running down the hazel staircase. So they haven't gone out.

"You guys are back!" she yelps, jumping onto my lap.

"Yes! I missed you too" I laugh at her excitement.

Alex nods and throws me that "there's not much time left" look, letting me know we should go pack.

"I'll go inform my mum. It's not safe for her to stay here either but she can go and live with our aunt Anne Berry for a while.

"MS.BERRY!" Rosie lets out another scream, piercing to the ears.

"The woman in charge of advertisement in Laquer's?" I question Alex.

"How do you know-" he begins but Ms.White enters the living room, anger still painted across her exhausted face.

"Alex. What plans do you have now?" she asks.

You guys go pack. I'll be right back. " he turns to us before focusing his attention back on his mother, "Mom, come sit down".

Rosie and I run upstairs and she clutches my hand lightly.

"Where are we going again? I like it here." she cries out sadly.

"I...don't know yet. But Alex is coming with us." her face immediately lights up as I announce this.

We go to our rooms and begin packing everything that we brought here a few days earlier. Only about a week...I never thought I'd have to do this much travelling in my life. Why can't we just have a peaceful life, with loving parents? I don't want to be rich, have mansions or popularity. All I'm asking for is a simple home, that will feel  like home.

History likes to repeat itself right? Only a few days before we have been heading off in search of a better life and place to stay. Now we are doing the exact same thing, all over again. Hopefully it's the last time and we can just settle down. The question is- will Alex stay there with us or will we have to battle the rest of our lives completely alone?

After 15 minutes of constantly trying to fit everything into my luggage carelessly ( in result of hurry ) I am finally done and ready to go.

Alex stands in the doorway the moment I look up from what I was doing.

"San Francisco. I booked the flight. We have an hour".

Wait.

Where?!
